Labor Operations for 2006 MY PCM Re-Calibrations – All 2006 and Later Model Year Vehicles
Article #08-A-2006(Supersedes WAN #12-A-2005)

A review of warranty claims for PCM re-calibration for 2006 MY vehicles indicate many of these claims were not authorized by a TSB, FSA or other written Ford documentation. As stated in the Warranty & Policy Manual (Section 3-46) The PCM should only be reprogrammed (flashed) when directed by a TSB, FSA, or other written Ford documentation. (See Dealer Letter dated May 27, 2005.) Beginning with all 2006 model year vehicle lines, PCM calibrations will have a specific labor operation number assigned to them.

• Claims must include the applicable TSB, FSA or other labor operation number directed by a Ford publication for reported vehicle and symptom or DTC.

Category: Powertrain – Gas Engine, Diesel Engine

Do: Claim the applicable TSB or FSA labor operation when directed to perform PCM re-calibration on 2006 and later model year vehicles.

Don't: Re-program the PCM unless directed by a TSB, FSA or other written Ford documentation on 2006 and later model year vehicles.
