Can my xcal read trouble codes from any obd2 vehicle, or just ford?

Should be any OBDII since it was standardized in 1996.

Just tried it. No go. Says trouble reading codes press select.

ive tried it before on a volvo and it wouldnt read those.... but it works great on the truck :)
