SOME 2003-2007 6.0L EQUIPPED VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT WHITE SMOKE, LACKS POWER, EXHAUST ODOR, SURGES, RUNS ROUGH, OR NO START WITH A COLD ENGINE. ENGINEERING IS RELEASING A SERVICE CALIBRATION THAT WILL NOT REQUIRE REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL INJECTORS PER TSB 06-2-13. THE CALIBRATION IS EXPECTED BY MID NOVEMBER 2006 AND A NEW TSB WILL BE RELEASED. IT MAY BE ADVANTAGEOUS FOR CUSTOMERS TO WAIT FOR THIS CALIBRATION IF POSSIBLE. <!--</pre>-->

Is this a fix for lazy injectors...or do they just turn the bad one off and you run on 6 or 7....lol....

I just read something about cycling the spool valves when the key is off.

cycling the spool valves befor start up would be a good thing:D they do that now but only for a split second. if they can get the spool valves to cycle more befor start-up it will help with the cold lazy spool valves on a cold start. i always new changing an injector for a lazy cold start was a high doller fix and that thick oil was the main concern.

The last round of calibration updates extended the prestart spool valve cycling. The new one cycles them on key off instead of on.

do you mean when the key is put in the ignition the valves cycle? or when the key is turned off?

In this edition of Diesel Talk Live, the Diesel Team will be reviewing the 6.0L Recalibration for Cold Injector Spool Valve Sticking. This new calibration cycles the injectors after the key is turned off. Special customer handling is required to demonstrate the injector cycling sound. Cool stuff...so my injectors will keep talking to me after I shut her down....saying stuff like hey you we need an oil change...hey you whats the deal with these dirty filters...hey you when you gonna put some more of that good chit in the tank.....I may just have to let ford give me this flash....
