Its been almost 3 months since I submitted a bill to Dominator Diesel for their purchase of some sets of ARP Dodge studs and previous frieght on other items. They currently still owe me 921 dollars, but will not answer the phone when I call. Since I am a one man operation, I was hoping I could tap into the power of you guys to give them a shout and ask them if they could pay their bill. Their number is 208-637-2100. Spread the word on other sites where you see them as a vendor.

This post will most likely get deleted by Doug because it is his forum but hopefully not. Here is the deal Doug and everyone reading this. Doug sold us some studs for $XXX.XX amount of dollars and $20.00 shipping. We NEVER got them, so I called him up and asked what was up. He said that ARP was backordered, I called ARP and they said they weren't. I waited almost 2 MONTHS called him back cause we still had no studs. I told Doug that we needed them within a couple days or else to just cancel the order, he said he would get them to me. We received them and Doug sent us over an invoice. The invoice price was about $90 more per set of studs then I had been quoted and he charged us almost $150.00 shipping instead of the $20.00 quoted.
Second: We got a SCT from Doug that has been paid for and that has NEVER been made to work on the customers truck. I emailed Doug numerous times to try and get this resolved and it never happened.
Doug I will be happy to pay you and I told your partner "Elvis" that I would but that I needed a correct invoice. Never heard back from him.

You purchased 5 set of studs total.
The first three sets of studs were for 350 each. I let you know that I had 1 of the 3 sets of studs here and the others were back ordered. When the first set of studs did not go out. I let you know the person that was supposed to have shipped them never did and was fired from that location. We waited for the rest of the studs to come off of backorder and to be delivered. ARP produced 3000 bolts and we got them as soon as they were shipped. The first 3 sets I sold to you were paid for with ground shipping. You requested 2nd day air on some of the sets and over night on one set. During this time you wanted an SCT. It was for a brand new at the time job2 6.0L After I sent you numerous files to test on the truck, the customer could not wait and got a Bully Dog. You told me that you had an 05 truck and wanted tunes for it, but did not give me a strategy for the truck. After the first 3 sets of studs you wanted 2 more sets. I told you before I shipped them that the price had gone up. And they were shipped other than ground you would pay the freight and you would pay the difference from the original ground. You told me to put together an invoice for you and send it over. I did. If you had a problem with the invoice, then it would have been nice to have gotten a phone call, instead of no response. The invoice was for 2 sets of studs for 400 and the freight charges for the 2nd days and the overnights.

Nothing to be mad about. Doug just needs to send us over an invoice for the correct amount and it will all be taken care of. I told Elvis this when he called. I didn't request 2nd day air Doug, I told you that if we didn't have them in 2 days then the customer didn't want them. You offered to send them 2nd day so that you didn't lose a sale. I am done with doing this childish game on the forums though. If you would like to continue by email or phone that is fine.

We hadn't torn down the motor. We called and ordered the studs a month in advance, just never got them. We don't need to worry about it now though, just get us a correct invoice and you will have a check.
Also just to let everyone know, the guy that tried Dougs SCT did put a Bullydog on and liked it for about a month.......... until it screwed up his computer. He wants to try the SCT again now. :D

i've just read the whole deal. i'm self employed, do business with people daily where you have time/labor and materials out there, it sucks when you get into this kind of little pissing match.
DPD... is it true that you guys never answer your phones? Doug mentioned in a previous post that he needed the strategy, did you supply one for the truck in question? I understand you want to do this over the phone/email but he's claiming to have tried with no luck.
I'm not taking sides just trying to help. I should just stay out of it but I can understand how it's hard to get this information your wanting if he can't get ahold of you. I believe this put it in your court:

I am self employed as well, I'm an owner of DPD.
We do answer our phones but are not in the office often for many reasons.
1. We have work to do in the shop.
2. I have a very ill nephew that I help take care of.
3. I travel for parts / sales calls.
I am always available by email and all emails are answered quickly.
The strategy code, Doug has had for like 4 months now. He couldn't make it work at the time (which I understand cause it was a brand new truck). I have also private messaged Doug here on his forum to let him know and never got any reply.
As for payment, I need a correct invoice. I'm sure you know this from being in business yourself but if you have an invoice that says you owe $1000 and you only owe $700, if you only pay $700 the company can still come bite you in the a$$.
Also I need to either get the SCT working or get a return number and a refund. It has never worked and I can't seem to get Doug to help us out there. Heck, returning that SCT would be over 1/2 of what we owe Doug.
So now that you know this I think this it puts it in Dougs court don't you?
DPDIESEL

I should also add this:
The original price quoted was $350.00 per set of studs and $20.00 shipping.
Total: $720.00
Now Doug posts this:
"Tell ya what. The studs are 800 bucks for the 2 sets. Write the check for what you think you owe me. If you think I should eat all the frieght then I will get a check for 800 bucks. If you want to pay the original invoice for the 900 and change then pay it."
At $400.00 a set that is a total of $800.00, more than the origanl price with shipping.
We were told LATER that our price had went up, not when we ordered them.

We didn't tell him we wanted them overnighted. We had ordered them and waited a month for them. Doug TOLD us they were on backorder but I called ARP and they said they weren't. I called Doug and said enough waiting, we either need the studs or cancel the order (a couple times we were told they had already shipped). He shipped them 2nd day air, not because we told him to, and then on the invoice charged us.

IMHO mfrs arent the people i would ask about a product (even if they make it) - try calling toyo: they will tell you that 38r20 open country MTs are not on national backorder..... but they are.
indeed, many shops will say they can get them but if you try to order a set - well, good luck with that. you might have them in 3 months. by the way - you will have to pay for them now in all liklihood. there should be some soon 'post-SEMA' but not from toyo and as such they wouldnt qualify.
besides - if someone (in a professional capacity) said to me 'we need it now or we don’t want it any more’ …… especially if I knew they needed the product/service/etc ……. Id get it off to them PDQ – not only to avoid loosing a sale but because it’s the thing to do. However, in my experience its SOP for the customer to pay for the expedited freight as it was an implied request.
Im sure you treat your customers the same way: they make an order and say I need it now or ill go somewhere else…… unless there is some special circumstance or you are a personal friend/acquaintance thereof…….you send *whatever it is* out and they pay for fast shipping.

im sure i did see that part, but i dont reread the entire thread before i post each time  So theres a chance ive forgotten a few things
indeed - i would want what i paid for (a tune for the SCT for example) but as you say, were the tables turned you too would want to be paid. By definition, to get what you paid for you must first pay.
i think a bit of the problem here - which is for yall to work out - is finding a mutually agreeable definition of ‘correct’. It’s a HIGHLY subjective term and your definition might be (for example) 10dollars whereas mine might be 20dollars or vise vera.
Ya gotta have a BATNA, and I don’t think this qualifies.

I had the company ship part of the first order 2nd day air because of there screw up. The freight charges are for the other sets you wanted sooner. I have the fedex bills. The studs were on back order and you had a set as soon as they came off. There was a production run of 3000 studs.

Why is it that the purchaser remembers the low number and the Seller remembers the high number? .....Humm. Perhaps a happy middle ground should be taken, which sucks for both sides. DP, you add what you *think* the parts were labled for. Frog, you lable the parts as you've stated. .........Then both of ya suck-it-up and split the difference. IMHO, the SCT deal should remain separate.
And, if you do business again make sure that it is via~ the written word.
.......DP, I understand that ya had to wait but what would you have done without them? Could you have gotten them any quicker? And you are correct, a business should act like a business and not some little spoiled brat. How long should you wait for programmers and what not?...donno? But this is a business and business is business. I don't care who farted where or why, it doesn't matter. If you do business it's called that because it is it's own entity and should act like it.
.......I'm STILL waiting on a damm programmer I ordered over a month ago, what should I do DP? Do you think the Vendor will ship it over-night or just try to screw the pooch on me? Should I cancel my order an loose out on a good deal? What should I say about the Vendor? Should I slam them or just crawl in a corrner and hide?

In actuality it is nice to see vendors "discuss" things on an open forum. Gives you a good idea of their operation.
Who is right and who is wrong doesn't really matter to me, but not responding to messages, not paying bills does concern me when the product is recieved. If a payment is made that receipt can be kept to keep you out of trouble and the left over amount can be written off by the supplier.
