2 friends and i dragged these big boys out the woods last night. one on the left was 280, right was 360. for size comparison, those are my two buddies holdin em up. theyre not the biggest weve killed this year, but needless to say, it was a chore getting them in the truck...

geez toby, i thought you were from texas. lol. small pigs are excellent to eat. you gotta cut the nuts off as soon as you shoot em if its not a sow, and youve got to clean it asap. anything over 75 pounds or so isnt really worth a shit to eat...
i bet there are more out there like it (if the same feed is still being left out) since it was a hybrid. it might not be 1000 lbs like it was supposed to be.... but it aint small

well, the river oak plantation, where the pig was shot, was also a fish farm. the fish eat super high protein fish food so they bulk up fast. the hog had been eating this fish food, and just got huge. he wasnt any different than the hogs we shoot in the woods now. theyre all ferral hogs, which means they were once domesticated, and have turned wild...

not 100% true, but a hell of a lot closer than most people get!
yes it was eating the hi-pro fish food (since as you said the original purpose of the place was a fish farm) which (btw, tho im sure you know this) is a special blend used to make his fish FUGGIN HUGE for what they are.
BUT while it was feral (which can happen in a few weeks) they subsequently dug it up and ran DNA on it, it was likely the offspring of a true wild boar and a domesticated that got out - thus (along w/ the food) leading to its big azz size. It was also pretty young – so it would have gotten bigger, but it was old enough that you can bet there are some offspring running around out there

Mikey -
Take that meat, cut it into roughly 3"x1/2"-3/4" pieces and run it through a cuber. Then deep fry it. You'll like it, no matter the size. I shoot them here and once you cube and deep fry them you will be hooked. I do the same with venison, but prefer the hog meat when it comes to deep frying. BTW - nice hogs.

Does Texas have deep fryers? They are the fattest state in the union. If im not mistaken the deep fried twinkie and deep fried oreo originated in texas.

nah, SOME hog can be good stuff - and some of the best sausage ive ever had was venison w/ jalapeño & cheddar (insert drool icon here)
Personally, if it was prepared right I wouldn’t turn my nose up at either
