I was on another site doing some reading and it seems that the duramaxs are putting down some big numbers with just simple mods.. Will a duramax outrun a 6.0 with basic mods like exhaust, intake and sct vs the duramax with the same basic mods?

the LBZ motor is strong, but the trans is crap. if you had a 6.0 with intake, tune, exhaust and a LBZ with the same mods, the LBZ would make a little more power, but the 6.0 would win in a drag race. the allison starts limping at 400 rear wheel...

The next problem is that in the 4x4 dmax, the tire like to face each other on hard launches.

With the transmission issue set aside, the Dmax seems like the stronger engine.
Those EFI Live tunes are putting down close to 500 rwhp.
Now lets see what happens when the 6.4 gets common rail

Wow and everyone around here talks so much crap about that Allison tranny in those trucks.. So that weak IFS front end can't handle some serious hp launchs like our solid axle? Also what exactly is the benefit on the common rail thats going in the 6.4L also what yr duramaxs did the LBZ motor come in?

Well my opinion is.....Chevy makes alot of power with a good transmission...It will haul ass and if its the LLY i've heard of guys running 12.80 on motor with stock injectors,stock turbo and a well built transmission with double program and a lift pump....now when you compare apples to apples if get a 6.0 with just an SCT and a duramax with a double program or what ever the hell is done The duramax dont stand a chance with the 6.0.....

My buddy has an 04 duramax with a 4inch exhaust system, air raid intake and is suppose to be getting banks 6 gunner with the PDA for his truck. Its suppose to add 155hp and 385tq.. So with exhaust intake and a badass tune on the sct shouldn't have a problem spankin him?

i didnt have any problems walking away from my buddies 04 dmax with intake/exhaust/edge, even on 40s with factory gears...

Well thats good to know that I shouldn't have a problem beating him.. I am going to put nitrous on my truck before I get injectors and turbo upgrade but only use it when I know Ill need it so If its close Ill just turn the gas on and really put it on him haha.. So when I get injectors and turbo also it will def be over though right?

dont know, dodge did blow some smoke, and the duramax did too, we all ran up to about 90mph and i slowed down and the duramax kept on running, but its was still fun, me and the duramax were about even, but we didnt get to run under about 80, thats how fast all the traffic was moving
