I am assuming the factory boost gauge is every bit crappy as the trans temp.
The factory gauge reads close to 40 psi stock!
I would like to split air line in the cab for the factory gauge to keep the engine bay uncluttered as possible. Where does this line come in to the cluster and where are they tapping into the intake for the factory gauge?
I can't find it any where! Is there a possibility it's electric?
If there is already a port for a boost gauge why put another hole in the elbow right?

not sure if its electric - but im sure doug will
its not as big of a POS as trans temp but it can be a couple PSI off

I dunno where the factory gauge gets its signal from but most likely its from the map line?????
I would still tap the elbow

If it's off the MAP, wouldn't it flutter like a mofo?

nah, people who dont want to bother tapping the elbow have been t-ing the map line for a long tim

t-ing off the map is a 50/50 deal. it will flutter for some people, work great for others. for some reason, it worked great for me for about 6 months, then started fluttering like a mother. i tapped the elbow and everything was A OK...

When I first hooked up the gauge in my old truck I went for the map line first, and it fluttered so bad under full throttle I knew it was making somewhere between 5 and 35psi! LOL
I could only stand it for a few days before giving up and tapping the elbow.

Don't fuck with the MAP line. The cluster uses a converted signal from the map sensor for its output and the data is sent over the network from the pcm. Tap the elbow. If the boost gauge is fluttering where is the boost leak?!?!

Thanks Doug,
I figured it was electric.

my bud's boost gauge seems to work pretty good. he has a bully dog outlook and it seems to mirror his numbers much better than I aniticipated it would, actually. but, there's no detail, so what can u do with it anyways...
