First of all, i have an 03 psd 6L. current mods are airraid intake, straight exhaust, banks six gun w/pda, and powershot 2000 propane kit.

Has anyone with engine mods installed the transgo shift kit in the trans? if so, could you tell a difference in how it shifts at all, or does it just a preventative measure from it blowing?

Has anyone had others tuners and switched to the sct? or anyone stacked an edge, bullydog, banks, etc. with a sct just for the trans tunes? im considering this and wanted to know for sure how good it is before purchasing.

Can you "beef up" the stock clutch pack in the rear end to keep it from burnin up on the first burnout? or do you have replace the whole rear end with a stronger unit?

Also, is it hard and how long does it normally take to shim the regulator to get a little extra fuel?

I got plently more questions, but ill start out with these and see what you think!
Thanks!
Darin

dont waste your money on transgo. get a sct and make more power, and your trans will be safe up to 6-700 horsepower. i switched from edge on my last truck, and it was night and day. shimming the regulator takes like 5 minutes.

i actually already purchased the transgo...before i knew you had to drop the whole tranny! they told me before i ordered you just had to drop the pan or i wouldnt have orderedin the first place!

Check your fuel pressure before you start shimming the regulator.

even if the pressure is normal, would it hurt to put in just the bb? cuz i kinda already did it! how much are fuel pressure gauges normally (preferebly to put in the cab)?
...any input on the other stuff?
Thanks!

If you put the pressure too high it strains the pump and can cause pump failure.

what is the highesst you should go for fuel pressure on a stock set up, or even with a stock pump? My fuel pressure stays around 49psi, and goes down to 39 under WOT... is that normal?

you should be a bit higher than that. mid(ish) 50s at idle stock - i wouldnt go above 60

keep it around 55-60psi going to 39 and under is death for the injectors over time. i dont like to see anything under 45 on wot runs.

Thats what I was thinking. I just got the gauges and haven't done a filter change yet, so I will see what the pressure is after, a bb might be in my future. Is there any how too's on the BB mod?

It should be 55psi +/- 5psi. So deffinately check the filters and then you can go to the regulator.

i put the bb in mine, i seem to have noticed a small amount of low end power gained. however, does this hurt or help top end power?

Does anyone else have a powershot kit on their 6L?
Also, any other comments or suggestions on the other stuff i originally posted?

Thanks!
Darin

btw..the bb is a LOT easier to put in if you take the hose clamp loose and pull the elblow thats in your way..learned that after getting a cramp in my hand!

it should help everywhere at wot. i had a ps2000 on two 6.0s, and blew both of em up. needless to say, my current 6.0 does not have it...lol

if used in moderation, it can be very beneficial in terms of increased mpg. however, think of it like running a wet nitrous system without the nitrous. you are shooting fuel into the intake...

meh..... it happens ;)
seriously tho: if you dont have self control - dont do it.

The powershot didn't blow the truck up. The guy behind the pedal blew it up.

thought pane was supposed to be not as hard on em as nos? i dont use it all the time...highway driving sometimes to try to get better mpg and some racing or playing around.

had it been nitrous and not propane, id prolly still be driving my 04, and never would have destroyed a new 06. it was for the better i guess, i love my long bed now.

How much propane were you flowing mikey? And how did you have the system set? What did you do to the files when you put the system on? These questions would be nice to have answered before you just say propane is bad.

LOL! ps2000 recommends 6 turns out as the max setting, i was running 8 turns. the juice started flowing at 5psi, and absolutely nothing was done to my files.

what can i say. i like smoke. ps2000 made lots, then it all turned white, and ford said i needed a new motor... twice...

ok, never mind then...im not scared anymore! haha. i think that they sent my unit out with the screw at around 3 turns maybe? and i have turned it up about 1/4 turn, and thats it!

I Like smoke too though...think my next upgrade may be a small set of injectors! how hard are they to replace? just gotta pull the valve covers and pull out the old and push in the new or...?

Yup just yank the valve covers, and the high pressure rails and you are right there. Just make sure you torque them to 24ft/lbs.
