here are our 2007 rules.

MFSTPA STREET DIESEL TRUCK RULES
All decisions made by a MFSTPA official are final.

STREET DIESEL
The Street Diesel (SD) class is designed for full -bodied pulling trucks . With a maximum weight of 8000lbs. the truck also needs to be licensed and insured.

RULES & REGULATIONS
DRIVERS :
Must be 16 years of age. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license. Drivers shall not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and must drive their trucks in a safe manner at all times when at the pull.

BALLAST:
Ballast is permitted. Hanging weights are prohibited. Ballast my be added in the bed of the truck.

DRIVELINE:
An OEM transmission and transfer case is mandatory. It must have been optioned in a one-ton or smaller pickup.

DRIVER RESTRAINT SYSTEM:
The OEM restraint system is mandatory and must be worn.

ENGINE:
The engine is limited to a stock appearing, OEM make-specific compression ignition engine.

EXHAUST:
All vehicles must be equipped to direct exhaust upward or downward.

FUEL INJECTION PUMP:
The fuel injection pump is limited to a stock appearing, OEM engine model-specific pump only. Twin CP3’s and Hpop’s are prohibited.

HITCH:
The hitch must be a “REESE” style hitch. reinforcements are permitted. Trick hitches are prohibited .the hitches height from the ground may not exceed 26 inches. And must have a hook point at least 44 inches from the center of the rear axle. The hooking point must have a minimum 3.00 inch by 3.5 inch inside diameter opening for the sled hook.

NITROUS OXIDE:
Nitrous oxide is prohibited. No other oxygen extenders are allowed.

PROPANE:
Propane is prohibited.

REAR SUSPENSION:
Traction bars and devices are permitted. Suspension must maintain a minimum shock
travel of 1 inch.

TIRES:
Tires must be DOT street tires. Cut tires are prohibited. A maximum tire diameter of 35 inch.

TRANSMISSIONS:
Transmissions ( manual and automatics ) must have a transmission blanket meeting SFI 4.1 if running more than 4500 rpm.

TURBOCHARGER:
The turbocharger is limited to a stock appearing, OEM make-specific charger only. Turbochargers from different years in the same make may be interchanged.

WATER INJECTION:
Water injection is prohibited.

HOT DIESEL
The Hot Diesel (HD) class is designed for full -bodied 1 ton or less pulling trucks . With a maximum weight of 8000lbs. the truck also needs to be licensed and insured.

RULES & REGULATIONS
DRIVERS :
Must be 16 years of age. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license. Drivers shall not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and must drive their trucks in a safe manner at all times when at the pull.

BATTERIES:
Batteries must be securely mounted. They may not be located in the drivers compartment.

BODY:
Fiberglass hoods are prohibited .

CHASSIS:
Wheel tubes, back-half conversions, tube chassis, etc., are all prohibited.

BALLAST:
Ballast is permitted. Hanging weights are permitted but must be securely mounted and may not extend more than 60 inches from the center line of the front axle.

DRIVELINE:
An OEM transmission, transfer case, and axles is mandatory. It must have been optioned in a one-ton or smaller pickup.

DRIVER RESTRAINT SYSTEM:
The OEM restraint system is mandatory and must be worn. Or a three inch wide driver restraint system labeled as meeting SFI Spec 16.1.

DRIVESHAFT LOOPS:
All trucks must have at least six inch wide u-joint shields around all drive shafts u-joints, u-joint shields must be constructed out of at least ¼ inch steel or 3/8 inch aluminum with the u-joint centered in it. In addition there must be at least one drive shaft loop in the middle of each drive shaft .

ENGINE:
The engine block must have been available in a one ton or smaller pick-up truck.

EXHAUST:
All vehicles must be equipped to direct exhaust upward or downward. Two 3/8 inch diameter bolts must be placed in the exhaust pipe in a cross pattern within one inch of each other as close to the turbo as practical.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER:
A fire extinguisher is mandatory . It must be easily accessible and visible.

AIR SHUTOFF:
The vehicle must be equipped with a air shutoff . A master control for your air shutoff must be located at the back of the vehicle next to the hitch point , it must have a two inch diameter steel ring and be clearly visible to the hook man. A fuel shutoff is also very highly recommended.

TURBOCHARGER:
The vehicle is limited to a single turbocharger. the inducers bore on the compressor housing may be no larger than 2.8 inches measure at the smallest diameter area of the compressor wheel. A bushing may be used to down size the compressor housing ahead of the wheel. If a bushing is used , it must be round, at least ¾ of an inch long , mounted within 0.050 inch of the compressor wheel , and the inside of the bushing may not exceed a diameter of the 2.8 inch limit. The inlet will be measured using a 2.85 inch slug.

WATER INJECTION:
Water injection is permitted .

The hot diesel class will be fun we are competing against some good runnin super farm tractors to see who has the power

and we now have a new President of the club so I promise the hooks will be good this year, as my duty I will be makin sure that all tracks are propperly made and maintained.

Is there a reason why the exhaust has to be directed upward or downward?

Probabaly to keep pieces from leaving the exhaust and going into the spectators or anything near I think.

this is correct since the stock class doesn't have to have any cross bolts ,we went to this rule as a simple bolt on safty method to keep the people on the stands safe.
