compared to stock. install was pretty straight foward. took about an hour, and about 40 minutes of that was wrestling with the boots and getting the core support out and back in. the height of the truck also made it a real pain in the ass, couldnt done it without the new brush guard as a seat. ill have pics of the install tomorrow when its light outside. the pics will also reveal my top secret intake setup, along with some weight reduction that was performed tonight... :D

I love the hammer marks. If you slide it to the left you don't need to beat the shit out of it.

no way jack, mine was way too big. if it werent for my good friends mr pry bar and mr hammer, it wasnt coming out. i bent the shit out of it just getting it out. there was also some funk on it that was some sort of foamy glue, that wasnt helping my cause. then i dropped 3 of the 4 bolts on the driver side putting it back in, 2 of which made like cake in front of a fat bitch and disappeared.

Not to sound like a total idiot, what are the benifits of a after market intercooler? and should this be done first last or what? I think i am going to lower it 1st, then start changing stuff.

pete,
thanks, but lol, i dont have gauges in the truck. my overhead pod wouldnt fit in this truck because of the rear view. im goin home tomorrow to see if i can hop on the dyno to see if there was any power gain. yep, dose be 29.5x12s front and rear. shes not very pretty, but will go anywhere i point her.
wes,
intercooler provides cooler, denser air for the motor. you will get more horsepower, much lower egts, and better mpg provided your driving habits dont change. this thing is welded so nice, the end caps feel bullet proof. a big improvement over the stock plastic ends. this baby should be able to sustain some nasty boost.

Ok my cooler is in. Had it in last night before I washed my hands and went to the track. Got in one run before we got rained out. I can tell you the cruising temps are slightly lower maybe 50 degrees. It sits at about 600-625 at 60mph, 70mph, 80mph. The bitch about the hole thing is that I had to cut the flare off of my airaid to get it to fit between the top bracket and the drivers side core outlet. Top speed temps got to 1300 peak, but the faster I went the lower they went. It basically hit 1300 and then fell back to between 1100-1200. GPS was at 125mph. I couldn't stare at the gauge since I was looking for cars in front of me. I do know that my stock cooler was in need of replacement. It was seeping oil at the bottom corner. I am going to be sending pics back to them to get the situation fixed.

what were your temps like with the stock cooler at wot?
PSDPlayer
01-11-2007, 03:06 PM
WOT staying into it would push the gauge past 1300 to the 1400 range. But now they were dropping off the faster I went. It was 72 degrees outside last night when I was doing this on the highway.

I want to see what this thing does when a set of big sticks and a huge turbo is added.
