This guy is saying SCT is doing transmission tuning for Edge products.
Never heard this before...any truth?

He's not an idiot. SCT has assemble some things for Edge Products. Have you ever plugged in an evolution? And then plug in your SCT. They make the same little noise tones when they start up. The superchips files are some of the original SCT files.

So why does everyone say Edge shifts like shit if SCT does the tranny tuning?

The Edge Evolution shifts fine it's the Edge Juice and Platinum that shifts like crap!! Ask me how I know:eek:

The evolution will shift better than the modules ever will. You just can't overcome the factory tables if you aren't altering the program. You can make the converter lock by faking out something. Hell you can firm up the shifts by telling it that the trans oil is a certain temp. However its just not the same thing as changing the program.

My Father-in-law has the Evolution and I HAD the Edge Juice Platinum and it flare shifted so bad on the 3-4 shift I've had it cause the tow haul light to flash(limp)and get stuck in gear.
I had to pull over shut the truck off and restart to get it to shift.
This is what I think of Edge products:upyours: ...lol

Eric(Innovative) told me that Edge had contacted him personally to help them with trans features for the Edge Platinum,but decided to move on with it themselves.

I too once was a lover of the edge platinum..UNTIL that one wonderful day that I rode in a SCT tuned truck..wow..what a wonderful day..that is why I am a TRUE BELIEVER in the SCT..

I really like all the parameters that the EDGE monitors and blah blah blah..but SCT is where the power and FULL tranny control is at.

I don't really think it is a hate towards Edge products, its just that the SCT is the superior programmer for the 6.0Ls.

Humm I really don't care for my SCT... I hate not having the ablity to switch anytime i want. Also I really don't think I got as much power from it as everyone says they do. Also with the SCT the truck is still a slow POS and it doesn't tow much better with the tow tune. Hell Iam back to stock. I have to drive around with Race tune in to feel like my 7.3 in a 80 mode.
Also why can't they give you a $2 USB cable, i think thats just fucking cheap.
My 7.3 would tow my trailer 2x as fast as the stock 6.0, and 1/3 faster as the 6.0 with the tow tune. And that with the chop in the 7.3 turned down or off.

ok..the platinum..interferes with the SCT tuner..since it plugs into the middle plug on the PCM..since you don't have the platinum..you don't have to worry about it..you can keep your edge and use it as your gauges and get the SCT for the power and tranny control..that was my original plan..but I had the platinum.

well, i know mine made dead on 150hp over stock, and thats not nearly tuned out. get to 425whp like most other race files, that makes 175hp over stock...

Ask anyone that has ever asked me if I have ever hated on the edge products. I have always said they made some good power. However, when you start getting into the motor more you need to have more control. Hell I even told adam to keep his edge and be happy. Once you want to disable EGR and start to rework things for larger injectors and transmission tunability the edge just isn't capable. The other factor is cost. The price on the SCT is pretty damned hard to beat.

I could never be happy with my edge after riding in a SCT tuned truck. I just wish I could have kept if for the parameters that it measured..Oh well..
