Here's the background, less than 10 000kms ago I got hypermax head gaskets, new heads(old ones where warped), new thermostat, and head studs put in. Now my truck suddenly doesn't warm up in the cab until on the road(until the engine is under load), then the next day pukked out a ton of coolant, and keeps pushing in out at any engine load above idle, and overheated. I took it in to Ford as I was out of town and they replaced the EGR cooler (which was deleted) then said there was still a problem as the cooling system is pressureing up to 21 psi...WTF is there anything eles this could be other than head gaskets?
any help is appreciated

Only thing to pressurize at idle would be gaskets cause there isn't enough boost at idle or exhaust pressure either. But cylinder pressure is enough. If they replaced the EGR cooler then you can cross that off the list. Is the cap WOOTing on the degas bottle?

The cap never made a sound, or if it did it was to sudden to notice. Do you think it could be an injector cup leaking?

Its possible to be an injector cup, but you are talking about a stainless steel insert that was loc-tite'd in with green at the factory. Most injector cups that leak, usually leak immadiately.

There was minor issues right away, no heat in the cab, but the cooling system pressure was still normal so I thought it was a thermostat, changed it then 5000kms later.....shutdown

No heat in the cab comes from a restricted heater core.

my heater wouldnt work in the cab when there was no coolant in the truck, just blew cold air.

Which is why after a repair you must fill the truck with coolant with the truck on full heat if its a lariat to make sure the heater core is filled. However we saw a bunch of trucks with the heater cores restricted due to a nasty looking brown sludge being in them. Combination of stop leak pellets from the block during manufacturing and casting crap.
the heating/cooling system in lariats differ from those in XLT/harleys?
and thats another good reason to run your coolant filter!

Anything with electronic automatic temp control has the water valve in the heater core line. So you need to command heat to get it to open to flow into the heater core.

Thanks for the info Doug. I hope I can get this truck to run reliably, or its gonna get a big:upyours: then be sold
