anybody done this? do you actually have to have a laptop hooked up while driving down the road or hows it work? only think i could figure is if you have the sct hooked up in the obd port and the laptop hooked up with the usb? unless the sct has so much memory and you pull it from the truck and hook up to a cpu. jw how this feature works!
also, one of the best things i like about the banks is not necessarily the shift on the fly, but all the gauges, options, etc. that the pda has. so if i switch completely to the sct, i either have to do w/out all the extras or buy a lot of gauges....anybody have something out that you can use thats digital just for gauges no power?

ya, well right now i have a boost and egt gauge and a fuel gauge for my propane tank in the pods. and the trans temp and oil temp i monitor with the pda. and sometimes at high speeds i see how fast im going through the pda. so i didnt know if i could get another digital gauge setup to see all that stuff or what. i know the livewire is supposed to do it all, but i just got my xcal2 about 3 weeks ago so...

The datalogging doesn't work worth a shit. LiveWire is more for the gas applications.

oic, didnt know that. i thought the livewire was supposed to have all the tuneability of the xcal but also had to gauge functions, etc.? so bascically the route to go would be just get a bunch of mech gauges then? main stuff i wanna see really if boost, egt, trans, oil, and fuel press.

Not mechanical gauges. Only thing mechanical would be boost if it isn't available in the electric. A mechanical fuel gauge would need to be mounted outside the cab, unless you don't mind the smell of diesel if it starts leaking.

Livewire is an X-cal2. But notice the giant air/fuel ratio on it. And the shift light. Its like 550 dollars for it and the software is still being worked on. For 550 dollars you would have real gauges.

ya, thats what i meant by mech. whats the correct word, analog? ....gauges in a pod! haha. well i guess i need to get the sct working right so i can sell my banks stuff, but an intake elbow and couple gauges, and should still have enough money for lunch after that!

haha, they work that well? i was iffy on the concept, but have talked to a lot of people and read where people had em and noticed a difference. if i did/do purchase one, im going to do like they did in diesel power and dyno it but with a tune to see if it does add anything. you could send me a tune to let me try out if your bored tho! haha. but dont burn anything, might piss in the bed!
