Super Chargers

I was thinking about this the other day. Why couldn't you add a Vortech to our trucks. Reason I'm asking is in December I went to ND to see my brother in law who is a farmer. He has a diesel tractor that is turbo charged and super charged. Besides space and money why wouldn't this work? Zero Lag.

I wondered a while back about spooling a huge turbo with a small...way over driven centrifugal supercharger. You'd have to drive the hell out of it to overcome the low rpm's though.

I've often wondered the same thing. Just not brave enought to go thru all the work to try it.

Or just a straight up ProCharger.

Never heard a resonable explanaition why it would NOT work. (besides parasitic loss)

My big wonder is would it make more power than twins? I think for racing on the track turbos would be better because you have time to spool them up. But on the street a charger would always be ready to go but how much power does take from the engine?

LOL, He said it was an old hot rod thing. The old hot rodders were taking the supercharges off the Tractors and making them fit on the cars. It is interesting . Be cool to have a Maggie sticking out of the hood and damn the sound it would make.
