My first post

Just to start, hello to everyone. My names Art and I'm a Firefighter in Phila.Pa. and a former Marine. Semper Fi to any other jarheads out there. I have an 2001 F-350 4x4 ext-cab, 7.3L and have always wanted to make some improvements to the truck. I was reading Diesel Power mag and getting info off other forums, just to see what I might want. So I went with the Banks big hoss bundle.(very pricey) And what a nightmare! First I order the kit from Mike(a salesman for banks) and he tells me to get the#'s off the the computer on the truck. He'll send the kit out that day, Jan.31st and I'll get it in 5 days. I can't get any #'s till the next day, but that's OK he says, He'll send the rest three day mail and I'd have every thing by Tues. Feb.6th. I call him back twice Feb.1st with the numbers and leave a message for him to call me. No phone call, for 2 day's. So I call and get in touch with some one else and give him the #'s. and he would ship it right out and I'll still get everything on Tues. I take off work on tues. and no kit, I take off Wed. and no kit. Late Wed. Feb. 7th I get an e-mail the kit was shipped that day by UPS and would have it on the 13th. Now I'm pissed, and call Mike back. and leave a message. No call back from Mike. I call again and no reply. So I call Tech support and get no help from them. For 4 day's back and forth and still haven't heard from Mike. The 13th comes and I can't take off from work. UPS delivers the kit and puts it on the side of the house(but it's F%$# snowing). I come Home, it's dark and snowing and I don't see the kit. I call Banks and leave a message again. I go to work the next day, come home and no kit. I take out the trash and there it is on the side of the house. I put it in the living room, boxes all F^%$ up, But insides OK. Now my wife's involved and still no call from Mike. Finally she gets in touch with Colin Banks(she's persistent) and he gave us a nice discount for all or troubles. And Mike:upyours: did finally call 15 days after ordering the kit.
So I think everythings Ok now and I'll get the kit Installed , no problem. Yea, right. Sorry, I'll finish the rest tomrrow. I have night work and have to go.

Well, I'm back to finish my story. Since taking off the week before and leaving for Canada on the 26th, I really have no time to install the kit. I wanted to have it done before I left. So my Capt. lets me work on it at the fire house on Sunday, with the help of a friend of mine. But he didn't show up, out on load the night before. So I try it my self , at least the exhaust, power elbow and wheel for the turbo. Another firefighter at the station gives me a hand. Everything start to come apart easily, except the v band on the back of the turbo. We tried everything, it took over 2 hrs, and finally get it off. Then we start to put everything back together, turbo, power elbow, down tube. Then we start the exhaust, but there is a problem. The exhaust doesn't fit, its for a truck with a converter, which I had told Mike :upyours: I didn't have. So now I'm riding around with half an exhaust till banks sends me the rest, which will be here on Wed.
After reading all the post on here about the SCT tuner, I had called Doug on Fri. and he had sent it out for me that day. I also ordered new gauges. Next I'd like to get an intake kit, and fast, he was out of them. And the banks kit comes with a K&N filter for the stock air box.(Which I had asked Mike :upyours: if it was a K&N filter and he said no, we make our own that is better). What a f#$%ing liar. It was nice that Colin Banks gave me the discount and had the right exhaust sent out, but there sales people(Mike :upyours:) suck,and thats not a good way to conduct business.
Hopefully I'll have everything done by Sat; and will let everyone know how I made out.
