ISSUE:
Some 2003-2005 F-Super Duty, Excursion and 2004-2005 E-Series vehicles equipped with the 6.0L engine and built prior to 1/1/2005, may exhibit a frayed, shredded or broken front end accessory drive (FEAD) belt.
ACTION:
Replace the water pump pulley with a new service pulley, and install a new FEAD belt. Refer to Workshop Manual Section 303-03 (Water Pump - 6.0L Diesel). Ensure the new belt is installed properly on all pulleys.
