I have a tow file, a street file, and race file. My street file doesn't work that great, and since I drive the race tune all the time anyway I'm thinking of just getting the same file without converter lockup to make it more streetable, and replace the street file with it. Are any of you running a high power file without lockup? Will it hurt the trans at all? Or is it not even worth it?

I have never cared for lock up files. Having the torque converter locked most of the time is personal preference. I always felt like it caused lugging. The gonzo with stock shifting is great.

For some reason. I have noticed lately that the street versions of the race files have been stalling on me. Been looking into it the past couple of days.

i thought this too when i got some converter lock files...but Supposedly a lot of times it feels this way, but if you take it to the track the tc lock puts down lower #s......thats what the say anyways, havent tried any personal testing.

The pcm locks the converter from 40mph plus on with the factory file. The lugging is in the factory tune also.

Yeah, it's there but may not be as evident. The tuning amplifies everything right?
Remember when you sent a couple street files to me for pulling and I had you "loosen" the amount of throttle to unlock the converter?
They worked perfectly with no lugging

Some of the factory pcm codes have require 5 times more effort to get a tip-in response from the converter. Some trucks are 100 some trucks are 500.

what do you mean tip in response? to get the converter to actually lock?
whats a good 0-60 time ? i did a run the other day 4x4 launch in 4.9

depends on a lot of stuff..... altitude, temperature, tires, tire pressure, weight, the track, etc

THANKS doug! got me in a gullable state.....haha. well i would think that that method would at least be w/in a few 10ths.....long as you dont cheap and let off the brake, then hit the button, then hit it again right before you pass 60. oh well......it was pretty fast anyways, hopefully going to the track some this summer and see what she'll run. im hopin for low 13s
