hey Doug that tow file was much better. the 3rd shift was still very herky jerky and when was in the 4th gear(4th or 5th) nearing what seemed to be a shift point was jerking back and forth but if i let off wouldnt shift. other shifts were good with 2-3 with just one jerk or so. Let me know what you think will work. I would also like a strong file for everyday driving. I am running eric's extreme street so if it were something close to or better that would be great. I will be going out of town to the dunes next weekend too but wont be towing the trailer. let me know what you can do. Thanks,
Eric

Without the trailer on the truck at light throttle input like say 20-30% at lowspeeds does it seem to surge before the 1-2 and 2-3 shift also?

ok tested without the trailer. it doesnt do it as bad cruising but it was barely noticable. at shifts it was still jerky but cruising it wasnt that noticable. Sometimes it would shift be jerky then it would fell like it would shift then lug real bad then jerk and rpm's would raise back up but seemed to be just jerking rather than shifting. that was taking off from a light or turning onto a different road where i had to slow down. if i leave like a grandma i couldnt feel any jerking but taking off normal(not hard at all) it would jerk.

Im hoping there isn't any crap in the vgt solenoid from when they removed the flex pipe when they had the motor torn down.

Which is what I asked the other day. Does the truck on light throttle input at low speeds also tend to surge before the gear change.

ok i drove it for a day stock tuning and it didnt even surge or jerk in the slightest. Im going to be doing a pretty hard tow with the trailer this weekend so lets try to get me something set up before then. I will let ya know about it.

ok just got back from our yearly easter trip to the lakes. very hard pull. i got 6.7 MPG which i dont think is bad. I did it both directions stock tuning to see if it would be jerky. it was as smooth as ever shifting wise. on the way there it was cooler and through the hills is was doing 50 and dropped down to slowest of 40. that was almost pegged but i was watching my gauges. was anywhere from 25-30 psi boost trans was 160-170 and pyro was 11-12 got to 1250 max. the trip there was at night and much cooler than the trip back. i did have a death wobble once talk about scary with the trailer. I think it is due to me adjusting the hitch on the trailer cause the truck sat much more nose high than usual. on the way back it was hotter right at 130pm ish. cruising up the really long hills after a while i noticed a high pitched squel coming from it. it would fade in and id let out off the throttle a bit and it would fade away. happened most times around 1200* pyro gauges. trans got to 185 max and boost never moved when squel happened. It did it lowest of 1150 and max of 1250 but usually when i have been going up a long hill( like miles) at 7-8% grades. What do you think this could be. last time i pulled this i was stock tuning and same thing happened but i was hitting 40+psi and when i got back it was surging and ford replaced turbo and egr. It wasnt the fan sound i know thar but im not sure what it was. any help and id appreciate it. Oh ya no puking so the studs and new gaskets are holding strong!!

Doug let me know about doing some tunes since it wasnt herky jerky on shifts or right before overdrive.
