I know the Feds "mandate" that ULSD must be used in all '07 compliant vehicles (08 model year and up) but what if.... a person was to fill up with the farm diesel out on the farm. Basically, what I'm asking is, would it actually hurt these new motors, the fuel system, the dpf or would it strictly be an emissions thing?

Also, I've heard rumors that some future tuning may disable the dpf / regenerative process, if so would this change these fuel requirements of the motor?

Just curious as people are often questioning me about their trucks and I want to have the proper answers.

they say not to run the red stuff but it"s mostly for tax and emissions reasons.
as long as the fuel has the right lubricity and cetane rating along with the proper micron filtering i don't see it hurting the common rail system or injectors. just my opinion.
It"s crazy what they can do with reprogramming so disabling the Regen process might be possible

If you run the Farm Fuel, I would be adding additives in there.
