Gauge hook ups

Hey guys, just bought a bunch of guages from doug, just curious as the best places to connect the trans? water? and boost . are there sensors i can tap into and if so whear are they? or drill and tap all of them ? Thanks

there is a port on the side of the trans right above the pan..that's where everybody does that gauge. the boost should be drilled into the intake elbow,don't mess with the map line if someone reccommends that route you could get needle flutter as well as damage the map. for the water temp put a T in the heater hose line and go from there. mine is tapped directy to where the water goes into the oil cooler but its not easily accesible and I don't know if you can get to it with the motor assembled. you can look at my pics on the site.

Does anyone make a display that can monitor via the trucks internal electronics. I currently have the banks PDA and can monitor just any engine stat. I plan to go to the SCT but want to have guages too before running it hard.

Why do you really need it if you already have gauges? Hell, how come they release it to the public when there is no pyro probe?

no pyro probe STILL and its been released for what 3-4 months..and no software for custom tunes yet

Ok, I think I need to get some guages, or at least everyone said I need them. Truck is an 07 w/ dougs tunes on the SCT and a 4" MBRP exhaust, no cat. I have the tranny and engine temp and boost guage stock so I don want to mess with that. I should get the EGT but what else???? How do i hook it up and where the heck will I put it. Truck has the handle on the pillar unless I can get it above or below that.

just get a single pillar guage. then you can keep your grab handle.

for egts you drill and tap the exhaust manifold,install the probe and find a power source and tap into the dimmer switch.

no. I mean the exhaust manifold. if you look on the driver side down low bolted to the block its normally rusted I will take picture later.

the stock ones (other than boost) arent worth a darn.

get a single for the steering wheel as well for a trans temp. You could also do a dash mount or a mirror mount if you want 3 and want em all together
and as he said, if you tap the dp youll get funky readings
