What do you all think about the wicked wheel or any wheel like it? Thinking of putting one on my excursion. I hear that they make the whisle louder.

Ported Shroud housing. It gives the turbo an anti-surge front. What you need to do is determine what you want to spend. The wheel is a bandaid. I would recommend the housing. But deppending on future plans... you may want to save up some money for the complete turbo.

I have just installed a Banks housing compressor wheel and Big head wastegate on my 02 7.3 I have noticed the EGTs are running hotter..and boost is lower.. 3-4 psi at 70 mph.. I do get them back down if i hit the overdrive button and get the rpms up... I am currently running 37s and stock gearing and will b regearing to 4.30s when i git a minute the put them in..

Is tghis normal at 70 3-4 psi boost and 1850 rpm and egt is 800-950 and if i run it up to 75-80 it will run 1000-1100 degrees now. never did beore the upgrade.

Did you get the wastegate tight? sounds like not... When you added this did you get everything tightened? Did you pull the turbo when you did this?

To the OP'er... Is your truck a 96 or is that something else? Because the WW is only for the 99.5-2003 7.3's

Here's a Wicked Wheel and the ATS Housing combined;

Sorry for the motion sickness!

720Deere and myself knocked out the compressor wheel and housing install in an hour and a half, not sure which one cured my surge; I'd say the housing, and the new compressor wheel was an added benefit to sound cool.

Here's a picture of the stock wheel versus a wicked wheel;

Sounds great dave. I think you actually get more whistle in the cab than I do on my truck.
