New to the site from Anchorage, Ak. Found this site from a thread on another site about fastest stock 6.0 (funny thread in my opinion). But from what I have read so far I like since I know nothing about the sct tuner and would like to know more about it. So how much of an improvement is there with the sct over the edge platinum?

edge..I was a firm believer innedge..had the original, screen went out after 2 years..and a set of headgaskets, bought the edge platinum. had it installed for about 4 months..loved all the parameters in monitored, turbo timer etc, etc. but I went to a gtg and my friend from chuloata fl was there with a sct tuned by doug..I had been hearing how bad this truck was..I figured it was hype..so the time comes to go for a ride..after 2 mins I was a believer..the power
was incredible, shifts were crisp and zero flare..the hearing the tires break loose shifting into 3rd gear on 38's was incredible.

so then we go for a ride in my truck with the edge..power was ok at best shifts were sloppy and flared ridiculously..even with it turned off.

so..3 days later I was on the phone with doug ordering my SCT.

Thanks for making me feel welcome to the site. I can understand what you mean with the edge and tranny because my truck is in the shop because its having trouble shifting. Why doesn't the sct mess up the transmission? Does it defuel for shifts? And should I install head studs first?

The sct controls the line pressure to the trans. Yes, you should go ahead and get headstuds if you plan on modifying the truck even more.

Agreed..even though the edge says they have trans control they are full of shit..every avenue of your truck sengine, trans, fue,l timing etc etc..is adjustable with the SCT..
