are the 08 fords the only diesels that have the dual tip? if so, why do they need it and the others dont? cuz i saw a duramax yesterday that only had a single tip....it was a funny lookin one tho...!

They generate alot of heat when they go into regeneration. So those tips are there for a difuser.

Same reason the front end is different and the same reason the interior is differernt. Different ideas on what works best.

haha, oic...well when the fords came out with it i guess i ASSUMED it was going to be neccesary for all the new ones to have 2 for the regeneration....or is ford the only one that does that too?? the chevy tip looks like a horn or somethin.....hadnt seen any new dodges yet

The LMM and the 6.7 cummins all have a particulate filter if I remember correctly.

If you look at the chevy tip closer you will see that it's bolted on and has an air inlet/gap at the joint to suck in cold air. Ford tips do the same thing.

I dont look at chevys except the Z06.....
