I noticed the batterie light came on for 10 seconds then turned off? Is this a warning to get new ones or do I need to clean the terminals?

6.0s eat batteries.
tell me about i thought it was my remote starter that killed the batteries
mine goes thru em like no tomorrow, and i personally know of at least 3 other trucks (and yalls now i guess) that kill batteries.
i even recently had ford check the draw to make sure i wasnt crazy and they said it was normal/well within range. this after my truck killed a set of batts in under 2 months. awesome.

seems like the batteries have a short life because of the high loads placed on them at every start-up. the glowplugs-starter-ficm all pull a hell of a load on them everytime you turn the key to on.

I also wonder about the battery blankets. Supposedly the battery life is cut in half if the battery doesn't get a blanket to insulate it from under hood temps. That was in an article that I read somewhere. I don't know if there is any truth to it.

you got that right. I ruined my first set trying to restart the truck after an injector change. second time I changed the injectors I used a work truck's batteries and put my new ones back in once it started the first time. batteries in work truck failed 2 weeks later. lol i went with the interstate 875's because they had a better warranty than the fords and I got both for 160 bucks.

when i had my HO alt on the truck the battery light started blinking, I replace the the HO alt with a factory alt and the light went away. Check your alts.

My alternator is going out...SOB!
Yep, if the battery light is coming on it the alt. not charging the battery's. My truck left me stranded at the bar 3 weeks ago.:banging: Went and put 2 yellow tops in it. Starts easier and sooner now.

just kill em in under a year and get some new ones for free - or doubtless theyll die a week later :rules::eek:
i have red tops in mine but theyve never lasted a year much less the 2 or 3 that red tops are supposed to be covered. i think this time i might try sticking some yellow tops in it to see if they last any longer
