Look at the axle code in the drivers door jamb. Let us know what it is.

99% of the duallys should have a locker 4.10 in them. However, my dually just ate one of the locker shims the other day and it killed a couple of teeth on the tone wheel for the ABS. So I need to check mine out, although it still does a dually burnout.

Doug,
You said that most duallys come with a locker, did you mean limited slip?
Is there a significant difference in the locking/L.S. mechanism for the DRW vs. SRW?
I'm asking because the rear in the dually works 1,000 times better than my SRW ever did.

you can put any locker in it....but how much do you want to spend, and what kind of driveability are you looking for?
Detroit is a great locker,...but it engages when you apply throttle,....it will take some getting used too,....not the best choice for taking a turn, on a snowy road, and getting on the gas,...you'll spin out....lol
I have ARB air lockers,...but with these you need on-board air,...comes with it, for a few more dollars(more like 300 more),....it's a selectable locker,...so when you need it, you flip a switch,....when you don't need it ,...you turn the switch off....perfect for me.

I run a power trax in my 92 coupe, it runs 9s and i still drive it on the street. I was wondering if they make something like that for a dually.

yes, you need a limited slip carrier. Doug, if you want to get a little more bite from that dana 80 restack the clutches in it. From the factory they are stacked so it will not bite hard like steel steel steel, friction... Restack them all steel-friction-steel-friction etc.

Im missing a large washer looking thing from in there. It still does a dually burnout. Where the shim came from IDK. But the mag-hytec cover held it on the magnetic drain plug and the magnetic dip stick.

Did it look conical? Like a convex washer?

Might have split the thrust washers on one of the spiders, cheap insurance to check it. Otherwise you will smoke the spiders.

I think that is what it was. Since the spiders looked a little loose. Just one more thing for me to have to mess with.

I have a question,...
When did Ford start puting lockers in anything?...To the best of my knowledge,..the best you can get in a stock truck is a limited slip...not a locker...
