My ATS trans hasn't been shifting correctlly since I've had it, which is about 4 months. The trans flares on the 3-5 shift and hits the rev limiter. ATS sent me 2 solenoids to swap out. Could someone help me out on this, is there only 2 solenoids in the transmission or is there a specific 2 that have to replaced? Thanks Folks

i cant remember what the solenoids are called off hand, but my suncoast came with 2 new ones also...one is on ALL the time, the other is on for EVERY gear shift....and theres also one solenoid for every gear which is only on when in that gear. so you could have a bad solenoid...

direct solenoid and EPC solenoid looks like are the 2 common ones that like to go out...
and seems like the solenoids are inthe "valve body" so i guess you can change them without dropping the tranny...?

Take out the tune and run it. What does it do?

Its just as bad on shifting. 1st 2 shifts are good and firm then around 50-60mph it drops out of gear and hits the rev limiter then falls into the next gear.

Ok let me get this straight. You are cruising down the road. It shifts 1-2 perfect. It shifts 2-3 perfect. And then when it goes to shift 3-5 it free wheels smacks the rev limiter and hammers the gear? And they sent you solenoids to fix this?

Yeah, thats what they sent 2 of them. They told me sometimes in shipping the tranny gets bounced around and causes the solenoids to go bad.....................I was like WFT? Then it sould constantly have something wrong with it being mounted to a vehicle, if it can get messed up during shipping. Now I have replace them and send cores back.
