Why would you do a high idle and than try and lower it? I think there is 2 choices as to what rpms you can set it. 1200 rpms and 2000 rpms. The mod is too help keep your truck from wet stacking or so they say, but whats the difference being stuck in traffic for hours?
I do have it on both my trucks though for them early cold morning start ups and what not.

That why I was asking I wasn't sure :frech:
It does sound good for the cold mornnings though , I was thinking you could lower it to about 1000 rpms is all ..
Thanks for the info Heinz ..

one of my friends has it in his DP tuner on a 7.3...it also helps keep the a/c cold in the summer! how hard is it to do on the 6.0?

About 10 minutes if you have the upfitter switches.

an on/off switch, or any two position switch. Do you have an SCT yet?

i dont have upfitter switches either...you just got to tap into a wire or what? and doug, hows it work on the sct? i know they have a "high idle" stock when cold after sitting for 2 mins. and i also know you can change the idle rpms with the handheld, but that would be at high idle all the time, no?

You can set the idle rpm based on engine oil temp. Have it raise the idle when the oil is cold. The upfitters DO NOT INSTALL IN 5 minutes. You need the switches and the harness. Then you need to snake the harness behind the dash.

It would have been 5 minutes if you would have just put the beer down.

I would have had it done sooner if you weren't being a little homo about lifting the dash back up.

i was wondering about the automatic high idle Doug referred to..huh..huh..huh....refer..
i know my truck automatically raises it when cold to like 800..after 2 min...and i have the PTO switch also....but if SCT has variable RPM control via oil temp..I WANT IT!!
please.....
BTW hienz.....sick list of mods man....you miss anything?
u can run just a positive wire(with fuse) to the orange wire under the dash and call it good. to activate it just put the parking break on.

No idea, sorry.
On my 05 i have a positive wire going to the orange wire and for the high idle to work I have to push the parking break.

degass....is that slang for my whiskey???
yeah...that group of wires for the service bodied trucks...i have seen the list but it did not work for my 04....4 of them are big and fat and go to underhood and then like 6 of them have black shrink on them...i tapped one for my PTO function....power to it = PTO on...
what do the rest do?....the links i found were all 05^
