so heres the story, early 04 truck, usual mods ( intake , 4'' turbo back no cat and SCT by Doug ) anyway bout two weeks ago i started noticing a dramatic decrease in Fuel milage. Got to the point that I got 2 hundred miles to a full tank. ( no towing involved ) Ive been so damn busy i never got a chance to investigate. other than that the truck ran fine. Monday night My GF and I got in the truck, started it up and immediately it idled very rough and White smoke poured out of the pipe. I mean bad, heavy , james bond smoke screen amount of white smoke. Didnt smell like coolant and wasnt a steam. Anyway had it towed to the dealer tuesday morning. called today and they said they haven't figured it out yet. WTF!!! They all suck around here. So anyone have any better ideas than they do? Doug????

if the alignment issue is severe enough i bet it could cause white smoke .... if youre going fast enough :)

LOL, well i had it towed to another dealer, i hear this one is supposed to be good. anyway they already have torn into it and said the EGR cooler is cracked. also think maybe a warped head. Two questions 1) the truck never got hot so how does the head warp? 2) what caused the EGR cooler to crack?? ive read many posts about others with this problem but havent heard of the cause

no one can answer those two questions?? oh well turned out that there was no head problems. just cracked EGR cooler. replaced the oil cooler since they were right there, and one injector. think i may have finally found a decent dealer. I made sure to get that techs name in case it ever has to go back in ill request him. He also went out of his way to replace the turbo. Said he saw the two complaints in the past of it sticking so he just replaced it.

Good as new. I mean remanufactured. I mean new to you. I just put 5 injectors in a truck. It was a 2003. So I put in the 2003 specific remaned injectors that I purchased at the dealer. 1 month goes by. Truck starts to get harder and harder to start. Truck finally dies. Pull codes. Cylinder number 3 injector CKT high and Cylinder number 3 injector ckt low. So apparently an injector can be Shorted out and have an open in the wires at the same time. Truck would not start. Disconnected number 3 injector truck immediately fires and idles. Keep this in the back of your head.

so is that caused by computer or sensor problems, or just bad injectors even though they are new? Or are they rebuilt injectors

It was an electrically fucked remanufactured injector. It was brand new to me in the box. The wires did not get chaffed on the rocker arms. Shit just happens with new parts. When the FICM senses a short it shuts down. The truck would not buzz test, the PCM would fail out. And when you would turn the key forward as it would cycle the injectors the dash would trip out and you could here the FICM relay clicking on and off.
