My truck started acting weird. Starts fine, idles fine, drives fine until I give it more throttle and then it hiccups bad and then carries on like normal. I changed the fuel filters today and still does it. Fuel pressure reads 54-55psi and drops down to 50 at full throttle before picking back up.

Help please.

Does it do it without a tune?

I haven't checked. Nothing changed since it started this morning.

I should add that the Water in Fuel warning illuminates very briefly when it stumbles. I have drained the separator a few times with no water.

I don't know if I figured it out, but on a test drive everything seemed fine, even with some full throttle romps. I might need to put a few more miles on it to make certain all is good.

I thought long and hard about what it felt like and it seemed to not have enough fuel or air was going through the lines. I drained the HFCM and checked the drain plug and it was fine. I checked the fuel filter cap o-ring and I changed it out to the new one from oil filter which is for my next oil change. Checked the ITP adapter fittings. Still not running right. I don't know if what I did was proper, but the ITP adapter now has a shraeder valve to bleed the line with more ease. I decided to use air and pressurize the system to look for leaks (air or fuel). What happened is it filled up like trying to fill a full tire.... like there was not much more air to fit in. Then it rushed out into the tank like it cleared something in the fuel line between the tank and HFCM. I did run my tank low on friday, but not low enough that the low fuel light and chime came one (unless it decided not to work) and the gauge still showed above empty. Could I have sucked something into the fuel line from the tank causing some blockage and preventing adequate fuel delivery?

So, it happened again today, but only once... and I tried often

you might have sucked some contaminated fuel into the supply line? if you can put a clear hose in-between the return line and hfcm, under the truck then start it and look for air bubbles. that will let you know if you are sucking air someplace. have you checked for codes? not all codes will turn the engine light on.

I am taking the truck in tomorrow to have it checked out. I don't have a code reader.

I don't know. I'm not smart.

Update.... The small bundle of wires for the exhaust pressure sensor rubbed through the insulation over a threaded stud. All repaired and all good.
