Tonight I was parking the truck in reverse at the bar and it started jurking. It felt like it was coming in and out of gear. In forward it seemed OK just took a little more time to get into gear. I checked the fluid but its hard to read. I was running it home and it shifted Ok (Took an RX7) Could it be just be low on fluid?

I think the hack who installed your sway bar probably clamped it to the drive shaft instead of the axle, is causing this problem!:hehe:

Seriously, my 03 did something similar. The seal between the trans and transfer case went bad and the trans leaked copious amounts of tranny fluid into the transfer case and never left a drop of oil on the outside.

Check the transfer case oil level to see if it's high, if it is, you're rich! Your truck makes it's own oil!

Thanks.. but how do I check the transfer case oil? This morning it ran great but it does take time to shift into gear.

The fluid is OK and it shifts great. I think it the dewhicky that tells the trans what gear its in. If I play with the shifter it will stop doing it. If its the trans I will set the truck on fire.

There are 2 plugs on the back of the t case, remove the top one and stick your finger in it. The fluid should be even with the hole or just below and not running out when you pull the plug. Just make sure the truck is level before you start!
