So while I was on a plane headed to wyoming to do a little snowboarding my employe calls and tells me that my truck has stoped running.Got it towed to the shop where I used to work(cause I know they will treat me right).at first glance , they replaced the fuel filter and everything was fine. The let the truck run awhile and then tried to drive and it had no power. Now it seems that the hpop has gone out. They are currently checking per the run down procedure. My question is does this normally take out the injection pump?Where should I source the parts? Can I find them cheaper than ford has them for? And how many hours does ford give to replace both? From the early estimates they are saying 2000-3000 dollars....merry christmas to me.

sounds like ether the qwick-fitting has a leak or one or more injector o-rings are leaking.
when the hpop does go out the engine can not build pressure and it wont start.
if you have a leak in the high pressure system and the engine starts but has no power it"s because the high pressure oil can not build the right amount of pressure. as for parts ford is the only place to get the pump. make sure they install the new bracket on the hpop to keep the fitting from blowing apart again,if that is what happined.

I got the truck back and the hpop and regulator was replaced. It seems to run fine but was told that the only code that has come back was a glow plug code on the #8 cyl.I plug the truck up at night and it runs rough for the first mile after startup but after that its fine.Should I be worried about the glow plug?
