k guys - i have a friend who wants a turbo, but he also wants to keep his stock injectors (dont ask me, i told him if he was going to upgrade on he may as well upgrade both). He has some kind of aftermarket IC (dont know/remember what kind) and runs a SCT along with the usual intake/exhaust. somehow he managed to run across LIPD and thought that looked good  but i think i :gr_cheers: that idea out of him

what should i advise him to go with, and whats it gonna run him?
anyone have one they feel like unloading that doesnt look like you tried to use it to crush boulders into gravel with?

Its an adapted turbo they use on dodges. With the small housing it spools alot quicker.

What about the Industrial upgraded VGT Doug? Is it worth it?

Those guys do a good job. I had David Andersen send his out there when he had gotten some bad shit from LIPD. He got a 62mm vgt upgrade instead of the 65. The larger wheels work but the unit needs to be balanced.

How does it compare to the VGT-SS? Ive heard they are near identical. I know the price is alot better on the II

seems like a wast of money to pump in more air and not more fuel..

i thought the same way for a long time, but under that logic theres no point in doing ANYTHING unless you do EVERYTHING at the same time.
why bother with a fuel system unless you have injectors; why bother with injectors unless you have a turbo; why bother with a turbo unless you have an IC; why bother with an IC unless you have an exhaust; why bother with any of it unless you have a fluidampner to smooth it out and a suspension to handle it and and and and and ;)

but i do know what ya mean...however it IS a sickness im sure he might get some sticks at some point - i know im still thinking about it but ill probably end up with a turbo first just because if (when) i get injectors i wont have to turn them down to make the truck drivable.

If I had to do everything over again, I would have done it different.

I understand what you mean CH but the 6.0"s fuel system is NOT worth a shit and needs changed even when the engine is stock. the turbo (when clean & working right)
can supply enough air volume and pressure for mild injectors. just my 2 cents id spend the money on gauges then a fuel system then a tune, after that go nuts..

if doug (or someone)would make a reasonably priced fuel system(that was worth it both in terms of install and financially) id consider it - however i seriously doubt my friend would want to go to the trouble.
Ive talked to a few people and most of them say that while the fuel system helped, if they werent going to go all out they might not do it again. Others of them are ADAMANT that you should do it stock - even if youre not going to be running a tune or anything else. I cant say since i dont have one.
I know my truck will never be fast unless i drop it down some....which i dont want to do right now; but i can still throw money at it :)
