I am looking for some bigger hp injectors for my 2005. Who has them and what size will give me more power to go along with a brand new stock turbo(new under warranty) and my SCT running Innovative's Extreme tune?

Thanks.:gr_cheers:

Leaning towards Cass....how do you get in touch with him?

And what should I expect to pay?

Jason, buy Cass's, they are great, and reasonable to boot. I think like Toby said, stay 190's or less and you will be fine. If you decide to do a larger turbo someday, do the 190's. I think Cass's stage II's are 165?????? He sells through Doug, DJ and a few others I believe.

Thanks. Will the 190's be too big for the stock turbo or will 165's be better? I have NOS(not installed) but I cant blow nitrous everywhere I go.

I get some really good smoke now with just the SCT from Eric and don't want to overpower the stock turbo.

Tim, how do you like your turbo? Does it clean up all the smoke from the 190's?

Again, how much should I expect to pay for the 165's or 190's?

Again thanks for the info.

The stock turbo and 190cc are a good choice however if you are going to be pulling alot of weight I would drop down to some 165cc or so. Expect higher egts either way. The bigger the injector the more nitrous you can use.
The beans wheel will not clean up all the smoke.
Cost of the injectors will vary from vendor to vendor but to be safe expect 2grand plus.

I do pull quite often.....9500lbs max though. I think the 165's might be a better choice for me unless I find the coins to get another turbo.

That sounds good. The smoke should be minimal with that setup. Smoke sucks when your pulling. Get a fuel pressure Gauge also to be on the safe side.

I agree with Toby, and the Beans Turbo, ( I have the full turbo,((65MM)) not just the wheel) still will not come close to clearing up the 190's. 165s are probably great for everyday, with a stock turbo. I would not want to use 190's with a stock turbo, seeing that my egt's get pretty hot, very quick, and I have an upgraded intercooler. Jason, I am thinking your probably around 1500 for a set of Cass stage II's, but I have no idea what they are currently going for. I am more than happy with mine though.

I have a pyro and with the SCT I can get 1300* on hills but as soon as the pedal is lifted, she cools off rather quickly.

~$1500 ish is not too bad for the sticks, I was expecting more. Might just get the turbo as well. Anyone here using the Auroa(sp) on their 6.0. Looking at the 3000.

MAYBE....dunno. I still have a the Dodge to pay for every month!!!!!!

Thanks guys for the responses!

Ryan Casserly...615-533-1625.

Ryan is a great guy to deal with and I doubt you can beat his price anywhere!

I had Ryan's 190's and the same turbo Tim has and could peg my egt gauge at 1700 during a 1/4 mile run even with nitrous.

I would go with 190's and get your tuner to detune them some so you can tow plus you'll have an injector that will be kickass once you get a larger turbo.

The 190's are the best of both worlds(daily driving and performance)but once you go larger like I have now or like Toby you will not like the smoke these mofo's put out...atleast I don't:hehe:

Abrannan19
02-04-2008, 03:06 PM
I agree with David..i would say 190's..you can always tune them down..but you can never tune 165's up to 190's if you know what I am saying..

I tow a good bit with my 190's and a stock turbo..EGT's get hot but they are managable.

Casserly is the one and only way to go for sticks the man stands behind his products and he is just and all around great guy!

call him at the # David posted..sometimes when he is busy he will make you go thru a distributor. Doug is a distributor.

you would be better off with josh's injectors, as i've heard a lot of complaints recently w/cass's injectors. i AM running cass's injectors now, but when i go bigger i will most definitely be getting them from josh...

if you are going to stay with stock turbo and no plans for a bigger one, then you would be just fine with 165's... if you ever plan to maybe step up to a vgt-ss or something like that , i'd get the 190's and just keep 'em turned down till you are ready to turn them up, no sense in buying them twice.

a vgtss type of turbo will not completely clean up 190's w/04 housing, maybe it would with 03 not sure...
you can run up to 225's on the street and have it drivable WITH PROPER TUNING AND TURBO, but i wouldn't do it with stock turbo.

as far as pricing, i wont step on any toes, but you should get a hold of josh and i'm sure you'll get a great deal you can't pass up.

there are MANY turbos to choose from for the 6oh, whether you want to stay vgt, or go nonvgt...
aurora is one of the last i would consider, since they are way overpriced (like elite) and you could get better ones for much less if you shop around.
i can think of over a dozen available turbos off the top of my head for the 6oh

There are very FEW, fast spooling turbos that flow a shit ton of air that is reliable.

it will definitely clean up your stock ones , will be more than enough. but if you end up getting my 190's you'll still be good, it will flow enough for them too, cause i still have plenty of fuel at full boost

There are very FEW, fast spooling turbos that flow a shit ton of air that is reliable.

no one said fast spooling, shit flowing, reliable, i was simply stating ones that would fit the 6oh...

depending on applications of course, a highly modded motor will be able to spool more turbo than a stock motor for sure..

there are the various versions of the vgtss out there from the different vendors, that's about a half dozen right there..
you've got the hypo from injustrial...
you've got the nonvgt kits from BD, ATS, Turbonetics...
you've got schweitzer (sp?) nonvgt's...
depending on the application these are a few i can think of that would work well on modded 6ohs...
throw in a 2500stall suncoast converter and spooling issues are taken care of with some of these ..
i've actually decided to go with the .85a/r ex housing on my S300 for lower egt, and higher topend power, but it will probably be very UN-streetable until i change my converter, since i have a low stall (1800rpm) now and i'm sure compressor surge will be a thorn in my side,
several things to consider if that does happen would be to drop back to a .78a/r housing, or even throw a stock converter back in, or just do the 2500.
i've been told the 2500 is still streetable but i'm in the experimental stages right now, and i've got plenty of time on my hands to try a few things and see what works.

it's funny you say that slaughter, cause i've been stewing about this for a few minutes, and was just going to come on here to clarify because i don't want to give the wrong impression to anyone...

i am currently using ryan's injectors... i have NO problems with them..
if i had to recomend cass' i could do it in good faith, i've only "heard" from some people that they've had new injectors from cass and that they were not all good and they had to pull them and start over, HOWEVER, there were only a few of these and i cannot confirm , i only HEARD, so it was wrong of me to even bring it up in hindsight..

as for josh, the reason i will use him next time is because i have met josh and he has become a friend of mine. i know quite a few people using his injectors, and i can say that his injectors are very nice and for the same $$$ you will get bigger ones from him..

to recap: I HAVE NO PROBLEM W/CASS INJECTORS, THEY ARE IN MY TRUCK NOW..

a good turbo for :
1.stock sticks ... would be a stock turbo
2.165's ............ hypo 62mm from industrial - or SDT40 (vgt-ss) from spartan - or you
could buy elite's vgt-ss and kick yourself in the ass for wasting all your money...

i have been running the Spartan vgt 65mm since november and it is very quick and runs perfectly with my 190's.. i did have to upgrade to FASS to keep them supplied with fuel..

i had a low stall converter and a bad EBP sensor so i had a few surging issues, but only at low rpm low boost.. and it only happened under certain conditions when cruising on the hiway, from a stop at WOT there was nothing but tire screeching power at all RPMS.

i had a 2500RPM converter built for my truck yesterday, it will be in monday morning, and the truck will be ready on monday afternoon w/ hi stall converter, tranny rebuild. the tranny is now basically the same thing that you would get with a suncoast rebuild kit, but it's not from suncoast.. all the same stuff tho : alto frictions, kolene steels, new solenoids and pistons, transgo shift kit... the whole works..
and the best part: the tranny shop did it all for FREE as a warranty for the last tranny ! ! ! the only thing i paid for was a new tranny cooler from ford, and the rebuild of my converter to change the stall...
so basically i got a suncoast tranny and hi stall converter for 1200bucks... that's with labor .. and a suncoast basic kit is over 800, new converter alone would have been 1200

As far as Ryan having problems with injectors, you should call your boy Josh and ask him why he would let a set of injectors leave the shop with bad upper internal o-rings.

The injectors were put into Travis's truck and Josh told them to just swap out the o-rings. Thats odd. Ford says replace the injector, but Josh wants the end user to change the o-rings.

How many sets has Josh done? How many sets has Ryan done?

Why do I have Ryan build injectors for me? Because anytime I have heard someone having a problem even if it was the end user that installed it wrong he bends over backwards to help that person.

The simple fact is that if you send Ryan a junk set of injectors to machine then you are only fucking yourself. Send a working set and you get a working set back.

Pricing would be 1700 for 175s and 1800 for 200s. 100bucks for each 25cc step up.

Oh I read all your posts about you clarifying your statements. I see that you have his injectors in your truck. Have you verified that the rough idle is from the injector? Or could it be from the tune? Will all the issues from base fuel pressure being low from restricted fuel filters or lazy spool valves from poor oil quality, I would be looking there first before you condemn the injector. The prices I posted are the retail list prices including frieght. If you paid less than that I am happy for you. There will always be a cheaper price.

if you look i NEVER said i blamed ryan's work for my injectors running a tad rough now did i ???

i even said it was silky smooth when i put them in.. it's not from tune, and i don't have low fuel pressure now with my new fuel system..
it's from the crappy fuel we have here and since i've started running a fuel treatment again it has smoothed out. i never condemned the injector dont twist my words.

I love it. I keep sitting here watching you sport the Spartan Diesel cheerleader uniform. You can tell everyone you love them, but I'm not going to let you start slamming Ryan Casserly.

Wow, thanks alot Doug :upyours:... I very seldom have a had a problem with these but I picked up a bunch of cores and did not have a test bench at the time when I built those. I NOW DO! FYI, also I have Travis coming to my shop and I am installing them FOR FUCKING FREE! Has your boy ever done that? Wait a minute has he ever installed any 6.0 injectors himself? :owned: I called Adam when I sent those and told him I had a batch of bad O-rings and to test it before he set the cab down. And if the tech would of swapped the spools, his 10 minutes of work (like I explained to Adam) would of saved both of us the headache. Also I hired E-serv to to spec out and test different rings and have a company building a mold as we speak. As far as I know I am the only person anywhere that has done this?

Josh..me or my tech touching YOUR injectors makes us responsible for them..We are not taking the chance of fucking up an 1800 set of injectors. You know it wasn't the right thing for us to do and it wasn't in the best interest of the customer or the technician.

Also the truck had been torn apart on Thursday..sat until the following Monday because of the parts not arriving. We didn't have time to fix injectors..the truck should have been done by Friday..

I know mistakes happen..

And you installing them is the right thing to do and I would say that the situation is being rectified.

I got the order for the parts on I think like a monday or tuesday and shipped it as soon as possible. It was there by the weekend. ARPS, total egr delete, along with 180mm injectors. I dont think that was too bad? It just pissed me the fuck off to come over here and stuble across that first thing after sending people to doug and talking highly of him. But then again behind the warm glow of a monitor everyone is 10 foot tall and bulletproof.

He told me that it was ordered before then..but thats neither here nor there. It got there by Friday at 5. too late to get back together and test it out. The ARP's arrived in a timely manner..but the other parts no so much..NOT SAYING ITS YOUR FAULT! BUt like I said..USPS is not the best way to ship parts since you cant track them or there where abouts.

I never condemned your injectors, I called Doug to ask his opinion on what I should do. I do however think its a bad idea sending them out untested and wanting another person to be responsible for them, which am sure you can understand. It was a lesson learned for us and I am sure it is for you too.

You, and Ryan do not want me talking about bad injectors.. I have two sets of his here right now. I can post up pictures if you two would like. Also Ryan never had a test bench either as far as I know he just recently got one. This means for how many years has he been sending out injectors that have not been tested?

I am not Ryan's keeper or spoke person..say what what you want.

Injectors not flowing to spec and leaking unusable injectors are two different things.

I know Ryan's stuff isn't golden..never said it was..BUT I know anyones injectors can have problems.I know he has stood behind (NOT SAYING YOU WONT!!!) all the products he has sent to me.

LIKE I said..I didnt bad mouth your sticks.

we call that backpedalling ....

all of a sudden not so mouthy against josh when he comes on here and explains the situation...

and honestly you guys had this truck torn about and were up to your elbows in nuts and bolts for a week, but you couldnt remove two tiny bolts and change the orings on the fucking injectors to just make it right ?? you dont wanna be responsible for touching josh's injectors yet you'll tear someones entire motor apart and be responsible for that ?? there's a lot more liability there than if you were to just put the injector back together wrong (which is just about impossible) it's only a freaking spool valve for christ's sake...

AND your point? Yes we did exactly what we were supposed to do. I wont touch someones injectors..they were not our baby. They should have been right when we got them. If you wish to tear apart and injector that someone just paid 1800 bucks for and have the liability of that 1800 bucks on you hand then by all means go for..we wont. I was doing the guy a favor..he didn't pay a dime for what we did. And then to possibly mess up and injector..sorry buddy just not gonna happen.

i'm sure if josh told you to do it, he wouldn't expect that all of a sudden he's no longer responsible for his product, that's all i'm saying... it was just a pain in the ass all the way around for everyone involved and it sucks that stuff like that does happen..

i have absolutely nothing to do with this situation, and i apologize for even getting into with you it wasn't my place to say anything, i just tend to take some of the crap from other posts and let them spill over into other ones and for that i will say i'm sorry...

Purely hypothetical, not talking about anyone or any vendor in particular but
what if someone tried to fix a vendor error by trying to fix the problem but only made it worse or fucked something else up? Who covers the problem now?
Would you accept a new tire that needed a plug to hold air? It's only a plug!
If I dropped that kind of cash on something I would hope it was 100% when it arrived at my house. If it wasn't, I would send that shit back

no i agree with you, it's just that they were in a hurry i thought and if it was only a crush gasket replacement it would have been better for the customer to just change it, but like i say i don't really know the details of the situation, and i'd only be adding more stirring to the pot if i even tried to keep making sense of it, so i'm not going to comment on this because it doesn't concern me and i'd rather not beat a dead horse, i believe that the truck is up and running and either way it's over with from what i kjnow

I sat here and listened to one of your boys and thought I would comment. Fuck me if im gonna sit here and listen to his crap especially if I run the show. If you want to build injectors, then build them. Everyone is going to run into problems somewhere. More power to ya if you are going to build the individual components. I know that I play the game of, Send me a working set of injectors, and I will have them machined for you.
