not loading the stock program

k, my truck is back to the dealer again. this POS has developed a shifting issue between 2nd and 3rd. any way last time it was there getting the EGR cooler replaced tech told me he cant get the stock program loaded back in. I told him I did that before i gave him the truck , he said nope its not on the stock program i told him how to do it, blah blah blah. final result is he had to wipe the computer and reload a whole new strategy . well apperently its done it again. i loaded the stock program yesterday and he says its not there. its still over fueling . whats the hell is wrong? sorry for long post.

if he wiped out the computer and restarted, you would have not been able to use your SCT because it would have to be unlocked, since your tuner would no longer recognize your truck..

i'm simply offering suggestions to a guy who was complaining about his programmer, if he hadn't said he was having tuner problems this wouldn't have happened, he was looking for suggestions and i made one..

have doug send your tuner back to sct for inspection, i've had a bad xcal that had a loose connection in the DLC cable, and they repaired it and no problems since, so it's very possible that it's a hardware problem and not a software problem, for sure...

ask doug if he has a loaner sct you can use and can try to have yours warranteed, couldn't hurt to try.

yes there were a batch of sct's w/ bad cables, this is a known issue

I use a differant brand tunner but might have some help,if the cable is bad the tuner wont load or unload a file right. another issue is the ficm can make loading/unloading tunes go wrong, what i do is pull the ficm relay befor you download a tune then reinstall it and all is good.

I never once complained about my tuner ( the guy "doug " who writes my tunes ) My tuner ( again is Doug ) is Top Notch. Once more, no problems with my Tunes or tuner. That happens to be Doug.

Diesel71, thanks i will try your method. Tech told me that the truck was stock this time when he loaded the stock program from the SCT. who knows maybe it was a fluke thing or loose cable.

Check the pins in your OBD-2 port. I had one pin push out and make intermittent contact. It would fail loading tunes sometimes and do all kinds of odd things

sometimes it would actually load the tune, but it would corrupt it so the truck would not start, it would "successfully" load even w/a screwed up cable sometimes.

actually i don't boast about my motor building skills. as far as all my other racers, yes i've done most of the work, but actually i've learned most of the 6oh stuff i know from matt and that's why i drove there to have him show me how to rebuild it..
i'm sorry if the impression i give is that i have the best of the best, i've never claimed to be the best or the fastest out there, but i'm faily confident that my truck will handle its own against the majority of trucks out there, i'm sure there are still plenty of trucks faster than mine.
i never meant to imply that everyone else tunes are junk either, some people's trucks and driving styles work better w/certain tunes. what's the best tune for one person's truck might not necessarily be the best tunes for someone else's truck or driving style. it just so happens that of all the different tunes i've tried, matt's have been the most compatible for my truck and made the most power w/my setup.
as far as me telling everyone to drop their tuner and call matt, it's just kind of the running joke so i say that sarcastically because it's pretty much the response that people expect from me.. apparanty the sarcasm was missed on some of the posts, and they were taken seriously. i'll be sure to clarify next time since it seems to have really turned into quite a can of worms lately when it was just supposed to be in fun.

Funny you say there is NO Knowledge here to be gained or given. There is lots of information here some good some bad.. Most of the forum regulars all have each others numbers so WE mostly just give a ring to someone if we have a certain question we need to ask. There are some guys on this board who forgot more knowledge about diesels than what most people know. the accident was on a motox bike, not in a motox race douchebag.. the drift car the yellow lancer in the pic in front of the supra, i am building the motor for it, it's part of OUR team therefore i say MY because i have a vested interest in the vehicle, same as the supra, dana owns it, but we both have spent much blood sweat and tears getting it to where it is now. it is a TEAM effort... i'd have to be fucking millionaire to personally own every vehicle that our team brings to every event..
but yes, i DO own more than a few cars/trucks myself, as well as my bikes.
and yes the quad is far from done, i just finished stretching the frame and putting long swingarm on it. it's a banshee frame to start with, but will be getting either the turbo raptor motor or the already built stroker banshee motor that runs on alcohol... before you ask like some kind of nancy drew, the turbo raptor motor is mine, the banshee mill is dana's.

the 8.04 @ 172mph pass was made w/the old motor at 3.0L, AND the motor blew at the 1000' mark on that pass it did not even make the full pass under power... the new motor that we just put in the car is stroked to 3.4L and is making almost as much on boost as the old motor did on spray. we have also switched to an air/water i/c and removed the air conditioning/powersteering so the car is making WAY more power, has less drag on the motor, and also has been lightened quite a bit... IF the motor did not blow there is a very good chance that pass would have been a high7, even if not, there is now plenty of power to propel this car into the 7's..
keep an eye out we'll be in fontana and texas in march with it.

that was a fast car, no doubt.. but it did not say what motor it was..

and yes, i've seen a 7 second car w/4cylinder before.. sakura was around 10years ago running 7's w/a 4 cylinder...
but either way you CANNOT bash our supra no matter how much you dislike me. it is a verified 8.04, and no doubt a 7 second STREET CAR w/full interior, reg/insurance... just took out the a/c this month and powersteering other than that it's complete. now when YOU can do something equivalent, then you can talk shit to me until then you don't impress me and i really don't give a shit what you have to say to me.

Yes it was my 1st post but I have been around here sense Oct 06, and I have been watching this thread for awhile now. That 7 second car is my friend John Shepherd. Sakura was not a true 4 cyl. It was a 6 cyl that cut off the last 2 cyl. to make it a 4 cyl.
