2008 Mileage Report

SO far with about 50-50 mixed city highway, I am knocking down a whopping 13.8 mpg.

AWESOME ride, super quite and gobs of power. Trans shifts good.

Everything so far is way better than my old 6.0. I kinda dont like the newer boost gauge....real plain looking IMHO.


I made a good trade and ended up $$$$$ to the good so it was a great deal for me.

More mileage as I get it....should get about 400 miles of interstate driving tomorrow and friday. I'll keep an honest eye on it.

We put an SCT in his 08 and an AirAid and he was loving the fuel mileage.

just hard to justify the cost when my truck is paid for though. wish someone had the majick way of making the 6.0 confidently reliable

My truck was paid for as well. The new truck had a $5500 rebate and they gave me $17,500 for mine. I came out smelling like a rose!!!!!!!!!


AND the warm feeling that I don't own that OASIS nightmare anymore.......PRICELESS

Well, bad news guys. 80/20 mixed interstate/city and all I can get is 13.XX. I only have 560 miles on her so far and I really hope the milage get better.

Even with a long span of interstate driving at 75mph, as soon as I slowed down it regened on me and the info center milage numbers went to 5mpg!!!!!!!


And boy does it stink when the regen is going on.....whew!!!!!!!


Still I give it two thumbs up on ride, power and interior noise while driving.

I'll give it an 8.5 out of a possible 10.0.

I have 1400 miles on her now and on the interstate, cruise control on 70, i get a whopping 17 mpg. Thats more like it baby!!!

Friend of mine was getting 8-9mpg when it was new is now seeing 12-13mpg after about 10,000 miles on it. That is got too hurt with fuel getting to be 4.00 a gallon

5600 miles on her and 17 mpg is all she gets on the interstate with cruise on. Fuel here in central Louisiana is $4.19

I traded my 07 POS in for an 08 and I love it. Not seeing the best mileage though

With 1000K on the odo, I towed 10K from Mass to VA and got 11, 7.3 used to get 12.5, 07 got about 12

With almost 7K on it now, around town I get 13.2, 7.3 got 14.8, 07 6.0 got 14.2.

Bobtailing to Mass and back last week I got 16 cruise set at whatever speed limit it was. 7.3 would get 19+ in this same setup

Need to dump the DPF and get a little more tune in it, but it is a very nice truck to drive, even if thirsty

I just got my delete pipe from doug and loaded sct race file with delete and the lie-o-meter is reading between 20 and 22 mpg....I am going to filler up tomorrow and hand calculate it. I hope it is close to the meter!!!

Same milage here as before 13.XX....diesel is up again today to $4.299 in central Louisiana.

I have ran all 3 delete files on full tanks of gas.....
hand calculated with mostly highway driving which is what I do everyday. I average 15 mpg. With the dpf and stock file, same driving I would average 13 mpg. Also I am getting around 430-440 miles on a tank....My 6.0 never saw that! Saving $15.08 per tank at today's price of 4.19. So I will have to fill up 80 times and drive 35,200 miles to pay for the SCT and delete pipe. Is it worth it? Who knows, but I love the POWER!!

The sweet spot is cruising between 55-60.....I could definatly see the ability of achieving 17 or 18 mpg but I don't drive that way!!!!

Keeping the boost below 10 psi and the rpm's below 2000 is where its at!

Have you tried higher speeds? My 06 6.0 does it's best at 83-85 mph. I couldn't believe it but it's true. 21.6 mpg at 84 mph. Drop down to 75 and it's closer to 21. At 65-70 it's 19-20 but at 55 it's better than 20.

Still seeing good numbers? My stock 08 seemed to pick up to about 14 in town driving easy once it passed 8000 miles (also once I learned to NEVER cheat and run LSD). However, I am itching to do a DPF delete.

I'll be moving to the DC area with $5/gal fuel here soon and running it 50 miles a day, thats my excuse to buy a tuner :)

The numbers are very consistant with the way I drive...I let my wife drive it for a week and there was about a 1 mpg increase because she drives like a grandma and wasn't on the interstate cruizing 80 everyday like I am....

It is worth in in my book.....When the custom tuning come out I will be taking a trip to Doug's to play!
