Just launch in 4wd at or just above 2000 rpm. Flip it out of 4wd after it shifts into 2nd gear. There's no guarantee that it will unlock but sometimes they do. With tonight's track temps you should be able to run 60+ psi in the tires and still hook okay. I can usually launch okay at 65 psi unless the track is very cold. If I drop the psi to 55 my mph suffers on the big end of the track.

Whatever you do, do not copy anything that Nate does! That mofo runs a 13.4 one time and a 14.5 the next! LMAO Let us know how you do. My guess is around 13.5-13.7 providing you have driving skills.

Good luck on the run Evan!

Try to take some pics or vids if possible. I want to see both of your trucks run.

Yeah Nate is crazy slow but he does roll the smoke! Evan is probably fast enough to stay ahead of the cloud anyway.

The best advice is "drive fast dont suck"

El Diablo runs the 1/4 like a Supra....13.5 @ 140mph lol.

Only in Dreams!!!! LOL

Lord Tauk
05-13-2008, 08:40 PM
LOL That's too true Rob!

Last Supra I saw did almost 140MPH with like a 13.1 ET. He had to get the tow truck to bring back to the parking lot too! I think the rubber band tired 24'' wheels weren't helping for the launch!

05-13-2008, 11:38 PM
well.... here's the run, run down:
13.7@97mph- with RR kit turned "off"/all the way on... this is a STUPID IDEA! Screwed my truck up horribly!!! Stuttered and shook about 800' to the end of the 1/4 and proved no power. Broke my gauge, that had not been working right anyway haha
13.6@101mph- rolled off the line no boost at all, since gauge was broke, I turned the RR kit back down until it was at a reasonable level for idle and seemed like I nailed it dead on for heading down the track.
13.4@101mph- 10psi launch in 4wd. Spun off the line, spun 2nd gear shift, and even the 3rd gear shift I felt it squirrel up a bit in the back end.
13.4@100mph- same story as run 3

over all, it's tires at this point. and yes- my EGR cooler is done. I'm puking coolant EVERYWHERE! As if my studs went again, but I'm going to say that they didn't and it's the EGR cooler at this point, anyone agree?

13.4@101mph, soft launch and 1.88 60's, spinning tires. not horrible for all motor. but I know it can do better...

Evan- you tell your side of the story!

Damn son you have no luck at all.

my story sucks too...i ran dj's cartoon file and it was only a street file..i had terrible 60' time and ran two 14 flat times...im working with dougy fresh right now and hes making me some nasty file right now.

!!!PainTrain!!!
05-14-2008, 12:39 AM
Damn Evan. What rpm were you launching at?

03F250Stroke
05-14-2008, 12:44 AM
honestly i dont even remember..something like 15-1600 thats it. i had terrible R/T times too...lol it was my first time. im going back again in a couple days and see whats going on..trying dougs new tune too

!!!PainTrain!!!
05-14-2008, 01:37 AM
Try launching around 2000rpm the next time. You should see alot better improvement on your 60' time.

As long as you had fun that is all that matters.

720Deere
05-14-2008, 07:28 AM
Maybe a 14 flat but you were at 98 mph weren't you? The ET doesn't tell the whole story. You have bad 60' times and your 1/8 mile is definitely suffering from that as well. You have the mph for mid 13s at this point. You just need to learn how to drive!

!!!PainTrain!!!
05-14-2008, 06:24 PM
Agreed, 98 mph is enough for around a 13.6.

03F250Stroke
05-14-2008, 10:07 PM
actually it as 99.23mph. if you werent soooo cool matt id be mad as hell..but your an awesome dude and know your shit. we're going back to the track again..but again this was on my cartoon street file. so it wasnt anything to get excited about. im gonna work on mu 60' and see what happens next time..plus im gonna be running the froggggggyyyyy file....yeah son,....do work doug

720Deere
05-14-2008, 10:11 PM
14 flat at 99 mph? Damn you really do need to learn how to drive! How about this.....next time I will come up to Atco and be your driver. I think your polio braces are getting in the way! I'm a fatboy but my mad driving skills and lack of regard for the well being of your rig will net you the best times!

03F250Stroke
05-15-2008, 12:38 AM
i know thats sad right matt..like i said first time. we are gonna go back again real soon and see what happens from there.

Nate, you should just take that gauge off from the regulator and get yourself an electronic fuel pressure gauge for inside the cab.

720Deere
05-18-2008, 12:01 PM
That sounds too much like work!

Lord Tauk
05-18-2008, 10:01 PM
Electronic fuel pressure gauges aren't cheap though!

05-19-2008, 07:32 AM
Like that matters to Nate!

I don't know about sugar momma but it sounds like she has a good job! Maybe Miss Lauren helps fund the El Diablo addiction.

03F250Stroke
05-20-2008, 04:47 PM
man if lauren only knew how much money nate was spending...i asked him that one night and he said...WOW, she has NO idea!

If she finds out. There going to be a boyfriend delete mod in the future. LOL!!!!
Just kidding!!!!

John

720Deere
05-20-2008, 05:40 PM
Nate is always raving about the delete mods so let's see what he thinks about that one!

06TWO50Diesel
05-22-2008, 08:07 AM
:hehe: i'd HATE that mod guys! She knows kind of what I spend, but it's not a thing I keep secret, in a way. She know's none of this is cheap, and if she wants to know, I have no problems telling her. She just doesn't ask- which is kind of cool haha She just says,"and what does that do, and that, and that... oh, is that new? did you need it?" hahaha
She's an amazing girl! so I don't think the boyfriend delete will be coming any time soon haha Maybe the ring installation..?? hahaha

I'd go analog gauge again if I went in cab with the fuel pressure... I want to do an in cab boost controller too, I wonder if this turbo can plumb up with that.

720Deere
05-22-2008, 08:29 AM
The boyfriend delete mod will be when Boyfriend 3.0 becomes Husband 1.0. Unfortunately Boyfriend 3.0 must be totally deleted in order for Husband 1.0 to become active. Of course this system will not operate without Wife 1.0 which has quite a few glitches. Some men try "upgrading to Wife 2.0 and sometimes 3.0 in hopes that they will operate differently. Don't fall for that one. All versions of Wife come from the same designer and I must say He has a sense of humor for sure!

I can't take credit for that. It's mostly paraphrased from an email that circulated around a few years ago. It's stolen but it's mostly true!
