since i got my SCT from Innovative Diesel, i have been dying to get back on the dyno again, i used the Xtreme race file, that is my daily driver. i got 4 runs for $40, not bad, to top it off, it was a local ricer shop here in town, they were impressed with the big girls looks and numbers..

but they cold not get a torque reading at all, this was their 2nd diesel ever, BFD99 (Dex) was there with me to video and take some pics of the event...Thanks Doug for the effort on the dyno torque question for Dex!

CAUTION: keep your fingers on the volume knob, that straight pipe s loud as heck now!!!

Always cool to see dyno runs.

I think I would've took off the straps, handed the guy $40 and rolled out after the second run.

those runs dont sound right, way to short. leaving it in drive is a waist unless u bring the speed up to like 95 then start so it wont down shift. the right way to do it is to bring it up to 70mph in D then drop the shifter to 3 which will only let the trans downshift into 1:1 ratio (5th) then hammer it from there till 4 grand. 6th gear is overdrive, 5th is 1:1, then 3, 2, 1. 4th gear isnt used.

6th gear? wat?.... a torqshift only has 5 dude. wat do you mean?

SICKS-O

the torque shift is a 6 speed transmission, it only uses 5 of the 6 gears, 1st 2nd 3rd 5th and 6th

Not really. It uses 5 forward gears, not 6. 4th gear is used under extreme low temps only. So it's a 5 speed with a "hidden" cold weather gear, not a true 6 speed. That and it is a piece of shit is about all I know.

^^^ Hater..LOL its a 6 speed when it wants to be. LOL

thanks for reiterating what i said, i said it uses 5 forward gears 1st 2nd 3rd 5th and 6th. oh and its not a true 6 speed? thats funny because it has 6 forward gears. two seperate gear sets one in the front with .71 and 1:1 ratio and three in the rear 3.12, 1.54 & 1:1, last time i checked 3 times 2 is 6. if u want to be really technical yes it does use 4th gear in some situations that are very few and far between. but the point of this thread is WOT opperation and 4th is never used for that. its such a peice of shit that it can handle 300rwhp over stock rear wheel horsepower without a hickup, try that with a dodge or chevy.

Listen up asshole, a 6 speed shifts 6 times through a cycle. A trans that shifts 5 times with a diff. ratio in 1 gear for a cold weather strat is a fuckin 5 speed. If ford could have called it a 6 speed 3 yrs before the ally 6er dont you think they would have. And yes a tranny that can only handle 600hp after being fully built is a shitbox IMO. Fuckin retards

:hehe: must have been a hell of a build to not be able to handle what a stock tqshift can.

Thats the problem, not much to talk about for 3 crushed trans.

Toby,What if i have 6 rubbers and i fuck you 5 times? Was that 5 or 6 fucks?

Even though Don is an asshole, I'm going to side with him on this one. An Eaton 8LL truck transmission actually has 11 gear ratios but you only use 8 or them so it's called an 8 speed transmission. Many people use 9 of them and you have 2 more low hole gears for off-road extreme situations but it's still an 8 speed.

As far as 5R110 reliability, they are pretty rock solid up to maybe 500 hp but after that they don't seem to get the job done. In my opinion the problem with them after they are fully built is the shift tuning. My limited experience with Nate's Suncoast tells me that a built 5R110 is more difficult to tune. I believe that a live tuning session is the only way you will have any hope of making one survive at 600+ rwhp. :donlovescock:
