well..I will be there this coming up year..its May 8-9th. It was pushed back a weekend from when its normally held. It was a great time last year..Drag Racing. sled pulling, dyno's and great people to hang out with.



TS OUTLAW 09 Will be Held May 8-9Atr Beech Bend Raceway.

Friday 5/8 will be the open house at the Pavilion at Beech Bend with live music and BBQ.

Saturday 5/9 Will be the Outlaw Diesel Drags AND Outlaw Sled pulls @ Beech Bend.

The plan is to have both events at the same venue, assuming it can be worked out.


OK here is an update of plans as of 11/26/08...

The open house will take place at Beech Bend on Friday May 8th. We will have more room and plenty of parking area for the annual open house. There will be live bands, food, our usual kick off festivities.

The drag race will take place Saturday May 9th at Beech Bend. Gates will open at 8:00am

Scheid Diesel will be putting on the sled pull portion of TS Outlaw 09. The sled pulls will be back at The Southern Kentucky Fairgrounds. We loved the idea of the pulls at Beech Bend and thought it was all worked out, but the owner of Beech Bend wants to put off building the sled pull area venue at this time. We will be working with the Southern Kentucky Fairboard closely to ensure that parking, traffic issues, etc will be greatly improved for the event.

Sled pull & drag race rules, classes, etc will be up on our website soon. Remember TS 09 is an OUTLAW event so the rules will be different to some degree.

Jeremiah I already offered to take a gooseneck down for Don but he's going to flat tow a 250 down behind him just in case. If you want to take your trailer, I would be glad to tow you home if there was a problem. I would imagine you could still get close to 15 mpg towing an empty gooseneck on the highway.

Last year the Ramada was the "official event hotel". Don't think you're going to see that happen again. The place was 98% full of diesel enthusiasts and all it took was a couple of douches to call and complain. The front desk called the cops and they shut down the fun. I'll try my luck at the campgrounds this year.

Hmmmmnn... This thread lit up all of a sudden...

We'll be headed down Thursday morning and hanging out that night. The open house is a hell of a good time all day Friday. Gives you a chance to meet a lot of people without having to run all over through out the day. Not to mention the dyno will be running, free food, a lot of the racers and pullers have their rigs out on display, and a bunch of vendors to peruse. I think I had just as much fun last year at the open house as I did on race day. After the open house there's always after parties. I think the big one this year is going to be at Wahbah's steak house again.

Nate, I dont think you should run your truck, your pit crew will not be there so we all know what the consequences and repercussions of racing without them is.

At this point it looks like I'll be driving BB down to attend, no racing. I'm able to take off Friday, so I'm leaving Thursday night just so I don't miss anything the event has to offer :rocking:
