I noticed I have a bit of seeping from different areas on the block. Its barely noticable, no drips, just a couple of damp spots on the block. It doesnt look like its comming from the heads, it looks lower?? I only have 10, 200 miles on the truck and I have babied it since new. I just changed the oil (3rd time) The past 2 changes I have been using the Valvoline Premium Blue 5w-40 synthetic. How come the owners manual says to use 15w-40? Should I be concerned, is this normal. This is my first diesel. I had a 98 F150 that had head gasket problems so I have been paranoid since then. Thanks.

You are really going to need a UV dye kit to pinpoint a small oil leak like that. Possible spillage from the oil change or your glow plug o-rings is where I would look first. Also check your oil filter cap, seen a few leak slightly and run down and show up on the front of the block.

I looked again, its above the oil pan, but below the heads. There is a 4" base to the block, that is the gasket.

Thats what it is there. But more often than not it's coming from above and just hanging at that joint.
