Found a black CC Lariat on the lot yesterday.
Are there any issues with the 6.4 that would keep you guys from owning one?
What are the issues?? What causes issues? Are they more reliable than the 6.0?

Havent really heard of any major issues, then again i dont think nate or rob have gotten their hands on one.

Pete, they seem pretty bulletproof in stock form and have proven to take quite a bit of abuse at the 500+ hp level. I wouldn't hesitate to own one, but then again I was dumb enough to buy a 6.0 even though I knew better.

The biggest issue is they are so packed under the hood everything requires the cab off. Had an oil leak under the turbo's and 2 inj.pump failures. Cabs came off all 3. Fuel mileage sucks but they seem to hold up much better than the 6.0's.

I've been seriously considering buying a 6.4. Probably a few things holding me back though. First is the 6.7 just around the corner. What's that going to do to resale value of the 6.4. It also had a very limited production run that may affect parts availability in the future. The time to buy just isn't right either. I think shortly after the release of the 6.7 the price of the 6.4 still on the lots will plumet, so I'm holding out for 2 or 3 months before I buy, if I buy.

Just my thoughts.

If its an early 08 then it may have issues. The early production ones didn't make it to 45k miles before self distructing.

Injector connector polarity issues. Piston failures. Front cover cavitation. Injector nozzles cracked and filling crank cases with fuel.

That's what I was thinking as well. 6.4's should hit pretty low numbers in the next few months, espcially since no one is selling shit.
