i have a question with 6.0l engine oil temps. what should they run at when towing. how can you tell if your oil cooler is going bad? what are the signs? anyone got answers? what oil coolers are best on the market? etc...

water temp is running at 186ish and the oil temp is 220 with out any load. with 10000 lbs tt oil temp 250 and water was 200. this was a short pull bout 25 miles with steep grades and slow speeds.

And now you know the oil cooler isn't doing a very good job. The EGR cooler could be the restriction if it is still there.

what do you mean by that?? dont mean to be dumb but dont really understand your reply is the cooler going to shit or is it ok ??? i done a mkm egr cooler delete bout a week ago, got the issues worked out of it. i just bought this truck and trying to work all the bugs out of it before i hit the road this summer for vacation.

You're probably going to need to rebuild your oil cooler. EOT and ECT should be no more than 15* apart.

was just reading bout a engine coolant filter is that a good idea with a new oil cooler install??
