I've just got my intake off and am ready to pull the oil cooler for an egr and oil cooler replacement and I need some help. the gasket, o-ring kit that came with the oil cooler has some spare parts in it. I can't figure out where two of the bolts are suposed to go. and the huge black o'ring and the three spacers. any help with where these go would be appreciated. the littlest bolt has a torx head like what holds the standpipe or whatcha call it in the oil filter housing but doesn't look quite the same. Thanks in advance, I'll start the oil cooler next just thought i'd look for some answer's before i get greasy wrenchin' again. by the way, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for posting the shop manual for removing the intake.

The black o ring goes between the intake and the engine front cover to seal the coolant passage. Bolts and spacers I honestly cannot remember what they are for but they are replacements and usually not needed.

went to pull the oil cooler and there was the black oring staring right at me. I was wondering if the spacers were for maybe later model turbo or something and the bolts? beats the hell outta me. Hell I'm wonder where I'm gonna put all the bolts I already took out not to mention the extras they threw in. lol Thanks for the quick reply. oh yeah, how the hell do you get the littl orange hose off the oil cooler end. I had to cut the darn thing to get the intake off, (I knew I had a new one and it was so oily I couldn't twist it.)

I just changed the turbo on my truck last weekend. My gasket, oring kit from ford also included 3 round spacers about a quarter inch in diameter and length. I suspect they're for an 03 pedistal since they weren't needed for my 06. I threw them in my extra bolt tray and moved on.

Another quick question, got the oil cooler off and replaced the screen, rebuilt the cooler and in putting it back on a shitload of oil overflowed out onto the v. is that gonn affect the seal of the rubber gasket or just wipe it up and keep trucking? thanks again for the help.

Wipe it up and keep on trucking. The gasket is fine.

I assume you got the same little baggy of parts from Ford that I got when I did the turbo swap? I honestly only used like two things out of that bag, the rest of the stuff I had no clue where it went lol.
