All Vehicle Lines May Exhibit A Fuel Gauge That Responds Slowly Or Takes A Long Time To Read 'full' After Refueling. This May Be Due To An Ignition Key That Is Left "on" During Fueling. The Ignition Must Be In The "off" Position While Refueling. When Refueling Is Complete And The Key Is Cycled From The "off" Position To "on" The Gauge Response Will Be Normal. Please Reference The Owner's Guide For Fuel Gauge Operation.

no idea, i just went in to refuel and now it will not reset.it just started and i just turned 20,000 miles.acts just like im not shutting off the key.it takes a good hour of driving for it to come up.i cycle the key leave it overnight no go.im thinking about unhooking the batteries next time to see if that works that may help narrow it down.

Do you have a remote start system installed in the truck?

Electrical issues. If its got remote start it has something tapped into the key on circuit. Double check its not getting back fed electricity for some reason.

Mine just did this today for the first time. The truck was off when I filled up and the keys were in my pocket. I started the truck after filling and the low fuel bell rang. Drove about 10 min. made a stop, shut truck down for approx. 20 min. Started back up to head home and the needle had made it to 1/2. By the time I got home about 15 min. later it was up to 3/4.

Truck sat all day sunday. I got in it this morning to go to work and the gauge was still reading 3/4 full. By the time I got to work (15 mile drive) it was reading full and working like always.
Odd!
