hey doug i will be pulling cab soon to replace head gaskets. I was looking at the wire ring head gaskets from hypermax their website says you don't need studs. I don't feel comfortable going that far just to put ford bolts back in. I thought maybe you might have some insight on this. perhaps I should just go with revised ford gaskets and studs. what do you think?

Think of these things like 5liter Mustangs. Studs are there for a reason. If you increase cylinder pressures you need a higher clamping force to hold the head in place. If the cab is off, it would be foolish not to get them done. Since the bolts are torque to yield they have no excess capacity for stretch. Fire ringed heads offer a better seal if the head moves when under load and a higher temp barrier than just the gasket.
