Hey guys, I recently picked up a 16 x 7 x 6 dual axle enclosed trailer and was wondering what kind of mileage ya'll are getting with similar size loads. It is 2K empty, obviously a barn-door on the highway, but so far, pretty disappointed at 60-65MPH. What kind of numbers are you seeing?

Dang, so once you put a load on the 6.0, does it drop to the 10s and 11s and stay there regardless of load? 2K, 10-12MPG, ya'll tow 5K, 11-12... :(

Depends on how fast and how Aero the trailer is. And what kind of road you are on.

I used to get 14 with the good diesel fuel, now I get 9 to 11 with ULSD @ 73 mph pulling about 10k.

It may not be related to the ULSD. I have been hearing from a few people that the cetane rating has been dropping in the fuel. Its a quality issue since the lower the cetane the lower the combustion rate.

This is possible but, I still fill up at the stations that still have the old stuff (without the ULSD sticker) when ever I can.

With 1/4 tank of ULSD and topped with 3/4 tank of the original fuel, my mileage will usually go up to 13 from 10, hand calculated. The mpg seems to go up in relation to the ratio of ULSD fuel in the tank.

Just a couple weeks ago I almost ran out of fuel and filled with the "good stuff" and my next tank mpg pulling my trailer was 14.
